Two facts I looked about the author:
1) Mario joined the US Air Force during World War II
2) He won an Oscar for the screenplay of The Godfather in 1973

A QUESTION I have to share with the class after reading this text.

What would you think it’s going to happen with Fredo

WRITING DOWN MY FEELINGS

My first impression when I started reading the beginning of this story was happiness. The
Godfather is one of my favorite books and movies, I read it so many times and saw the
movies many times too! Makes me happy to read it again.

In addition, when I reached the middle of the first chapter, I was feeling the same emotion
that I felt the first time I read the book. When Michael tells Kay how Don Vito helped
Johnny Fontane, making to the band-leader an offer he couldn’t refuse. That’s one of the
amazing quotes of all the times.

At the end of the story, I was thinking about the real Italian families. The confidence and
closeness they have, the loyalty and respect. I made a little research and that’s real, Puzo
didn’t invent that for the book. That’s a big detail to the success of the books and movies

RECORDING MY EMOTIONAL RESPONSE

While reading this story I was scare. It was when I read the following paragraph:

He had just reached the car when the two men pulled guns out of their
coats and began to fire. Don Corleone was hit several times in the back.
Fredo, on hearing the sound of guns, jumped out of the car; he was
shaking so much with fear that he dropped his gun before he could use
it. But his appearance was enough. On seeing him, the two men stopped
shooting and ran away.

All these lines made me felt sadness. He couldn’t just die right away! I felt pissed off too
because Fredo did nothing!! He’s just a little snitch who sold his father

If you ask me about this story, I have to tell you that for me is one of the greatest of all the
time. If you haven’t read it, you should give it the opportunity. This book will blow your
mind.
