DESCRIPTION/APPLICATION: One-Trip
The Baker WindowMaster™ Whipstock System was specifically de- Milling BHA
signed to reduce rig time during window milling operations. The
whipstock / mill assembly with two watermelon mills, the patented
Metal Muncher® window mill and flex joint allows the Whipstock to be
installed and the full gauge window to be milled all in one trip. This
saves at lease two trips over conventional window milling. Whipstock

OPERATION:
The WindowMaster whipstock assembly consists of the WindowMaster
whipstock, excluder sub, unloader valve, space-out joint, shear type
disconnect, second excluder sub, and ML drilling anchor. The
assembly is run in hole with the window mill shear pinned to the
whipstock. The anchor is landed in the ML packer bore and the
orienting profile of the drilling anchor mates with the profile in the ML
packer bore to orient the whipstock in the correct direction (or relation

to highside). The anchor is then latched into the packer by means of
a collet latching mechanism. The window mill is sheared and window
is milled until the full gauge watermelon mill exits the window. The mill
assembly is then removed from the well and the lateral well drilled. The
WindowMaster whipstock is recovered by running the fixed lug type Unloader
retrieving tool. The lug engages with a slot in the whipstock face and
upward applied load will release the anchor from the ML packer. A
hydraulic rolling dog retrieving tool is also available for whipstock
recovery should the lug tool fail to catch the whipstock.

The accessory equipment run between the whipstock and the anchor
will allow the whipstock to be recovered separately from the anchor,
in the event that the anchor will not come free. An overshot and fishing
jars may then be run to recover the ML anchor. Space Out
