OVERVIEW

Make-a-thon is organised by Idiots Room (E-Cell, DBIT) for the

interdisciplinary students of DBCL to collaborate for a period of a month to
ideate, create & deliver solutions to various challenges & problems. Make-a-thon
offers a competitive platform for entrepreneurial students to pursue an idea that
they are passionate about. The ideas will be sustainable in nature, and they may
be local or global in scope, encompassing social or environmental dimensions.
Working in teams, and in collaboration with faculty mentors, students will
develop their idea over three rounds of the competition. The level of detail will
increase with each submission, and finally the teams will pitch their idea to a
panel of judges in the final round.

Make-a-Thon 2020 focuses on enabling students to use their creativity to

innovate and explore new ideas that they may have. It is a competition, but it is
focused on learning rather than winning. Its purpose is to help students gain
experience with the process of design and the use of equipment that they would
normally miss out on in the classroom.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, Make-a-Thon 2020 will be conducted online

this year. The problem-statements for Make-a-Thon 2020 will be selected from
the domains provided by the Make-a-Thon organizers. The event will kick-start
by challenging the participants to come up with an innovative solution to their
problem statements and then work and develop a prototype/model/blueprint
during the phase of Ideation. Solutions can be based on hardware and software
projects and will be refined based on feedback from faculty and industry experts.
The event will conclude with judging by a panel followed by prize distribution
and incubation.
