A Performance Management System’s effectiveness lies in increasing performance and


fostering employee development and motivation

Context

A good performance management system works towards the improvement of the overall organizational performance
by managing the performances of teams and individuals for ensuring the achievement of the overall organizational
ambitions and goals. An effective performance management system can play a very crucial role in managing the
performance in an organization by:

● Ensuring that the employees understand the importance of their contributions to the organizational goals
and objectives.
● Ensuring each employee understands what is expected from them and equally ascertaining whether the
employees possess the required skills and support for fulfilling such expectations.
● Ensuring proper aligning or linking of objectives and facilitating effective communication throughout the
organization.
● Facilitating a cordial and a harmonious relationship between an individual employee and the line manager
based on trust and empowerment.

Objectives

The major objectives of this program are :

● To enhance the knowledge of the participants on various facets of Performance Management processes that
will lead to achievement of superior standards of work performance within their Organisation.
● To help the employees in identifying the knowledge and skills required for performing the job efficiently as
this would drive their focus towards performing the right task in the right way.
● Promoting a two way system of communication between the supervisors and the employees for clarifying
expectations about the roles and accountabilities, communicating the functional and organizational goals,
providing a regular and a transparent feedback for improving employee performance and continuous
coaching.
● Identifying the barriers to effective performance and resolving those barriers through constant monitoring,
coaching and development interventions.

Faculty :

Dr. Asit Mohapatra is a Production Engineer with Post Graduation in Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of
Management Studies, Mumbai. He has done his PhD in Business Administration from Aligarh Muslim University

He has more than thirty five years of work experience in the areas of Human Resources Management, Industrial
Engineering and Quality. He had the opportunity to work with various reputed Indian and Multinational Companies in
different Industry segments like Manufacturing, Automobiles, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, FMCG, Financial
Services, IT, Textiles and Supply Chain. Some of Companies he worked are Tata Motors, Parke Davis, ICICI Bank,
Reliance Retail, Raymond.

Dr. Mohapatra has been trained in Japan and USA in the area of Human Resources Management. He has been
certified as an Executive Coach by the European Coaching Institute. He is accredited as a Management Teacher by All
India Management Association. He is also certified to conduct psychological tests like SHL, MBTI, and Thomas
Profiling. He is certified as a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). He is trained as an Assessor
by Development Dimensions International (DDI) and SHL to facilitate Assessment Center process.

He has received HR Leadership Award from Asia Pacific HRM Congress in the year 2014.

He is a Life Member of the National HRD Network. He is also a Fellow Member of The Institution of Engineers &
Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering and Member of the All India Management Association. He has been
associated with IIM Lucknow and IIM Rohtak as a visiting Faculty. He is a guest speaker at various National Seminars
and Conferences.

Registration: Prior registration for participation by the sponsoring companies is necessary. Number of admissions will
be limited to 25.

Certificate of Participation will be given to the participants who will attend the programme fully.
