3.0 OPPORTUNITY

3.1 PROBLEM WORTH SOLVING

Market Challenge

It is a challenge for the B-frost company to make their own name in the market
for it is somehow compared with the very popular ice scramble of the Philippines also
known as the iskrambol. Iskrambol is a filipino frozen dessert that is very famous and
widely available nationwide. It is the company's inspiration on how they come up with
the product B-frost.

Technological Challenge

One of the major needs of the company is the use of different appliances that is
needed for the production of our product. The lack of appropriate appliances is a big
challenge for the company. Aside from that, the possible absence of electricity is
inevitable. Since most of the things used for the production is powered by electricity, the
absence of electricity will be a big hindrance to achieve consistent production.

Human Resource Challenge

Work production affects the profitability of the B-Frost company directly. The
performance of the business depends on how fast and effective the team works. A
member of the staff’s poor performance will affect the rest of the team’s morale. That's
why it is also a possible challenge for the B-Frost company if certain members of the
team aren’t working as well as they should.
B - FROST
Operational Challenge

The availability and price fluctuation of the raw materials can also be a challenge
for the B-Frost company. The company will have a hard time correctly judging the risk of
strongly fluctuating raw material costs. Price fluctuations and sudden shortages can
have a significant impact on the performance of the business.

3.2 OUR SOLUTION

Market Challenge

By promoting the product very well to the customers, the brand will have its own
identity and will be known faster around the country. With the use of social media and
printing press, the company will have an easier way to advertise the product in the
market. By this way, it will not just have its own identity but will also be known
nationwide.

Technological Challenge

As of the lack of appliances, the possible solution of this kind of challenge in our
company is to initiate the manual way of production. But of course once the company
gets to achieve the enough money, we will grab the chance to buy the appliances
needed. And for the electricity, existence of an electric generator will be the best
solution for this kind of challenge.

Human Resource Challenge

In able to solve this problem, B-Frost company should detail a set of performance
indicators that show how well was the team and the business is performing. Rather than
using simplistic finance indicators, it can be highly beneficial to identify, clarify and
agree upon the expectations of respective teams. Identify
B - FROST
how the results will be measured, monitor the progress made and evaluate
performances at the end of the management cycle.

Operational Challenge

In order to overcome this kind of challenge, B-Frost company should have a fixed
material percentage for the commodities the business purchases and the products
produced. That means it’s important to assess the material composition of each product
and stay tuned into price volatility for the relevant materials.

3.3 FUTURE PLANS

The B-Frost Company aims to be known as one of the top companies

internationally. To achieve that, future plans must be made in order to keep track of the
continuous improvement of the company. One of the future plans of the company is to
make more loyal customers. By doing so, they might help in giving recognition of the
company to different people that might love our product. Another plan is to make more
possible innovations to our product to gain more attention from the targeted customers.
Last but not the least it to be consistent in serving our customers That way, we can get

B - FROST
our very own ice scramble has a unique flavor such as banana with sweetened banana
as a topping and drizzled with many more attractive toppings to enjoy.

PRICE
The price of our product is only 20 pesos. We came up with this amount because
it will be an ideal price perfect for the students. The expenses of making this product are
just good for its price and will be affordable for everyone without sacrificing its good
quality. This is also for the people who want to spend money without stretching their
budget

Eligible employee classifications:

 Regular Full-Time employees

 Regular Part-Time employees
B - FROST
 Policies and Practices

HRM policies and procedures serve as guidelines by the company to use as a reference
for managing the employees. Here are the following practices by the B - Frost company
for all the employees/crews:

Our company will provide all the necessary securities to the employees. There is both a
formal contract (labor for money) and an informal contract (you put in some extra effort,
we take good care for you) between the employee and the employer. Employment
security enables employees to go home after work and provide for themselves and their
families. This concept of security is essential and underpins almost everything HR does.
Our company can’t just hire anyone; the company wants people who are fit for the job.
Companies do their utmost best to hire exceptional people because they add the most
value to the business.

Ability:

is the person able to do the job? Does the person have the right technical and soft
skills? Is the person smart enough to do the job well?

Trainability:

Can we train this person to improve his/her skills? Has the person the aptitude to learn
and keep developing?

Commitment:

Will the person commit to his/her work and to the organization? Will we be able to retain
this person once he/she is up to speed and fully productive?

Our company looks for a self-managed and effective teams. Teams provide value
because they consist of people who are and think differently but are working towards a
common goal. This means that different ideas are generated to help achieve the goal.
These ideas are then processed and combined, resulting in the best ones being
selected.

Individual personality assessments are also often used by the company as they help to
understand how other team members think and behave. Understanding these
processes is one of the main responsibilities of our company.
B - FROST
If our company hire the right people, we want to compensate them above average.
These are the people that will add the most value to your company so you want to retain
them and pay them fairly. This is an example that shows how different best practices
work together to provide more value than they would alone, in this case, selective hiring,
contingent compensation, and employment security. After recruiting the best people, our
company needs to ensure that they remain the frontrunners in the field. This has
become even more relevant today as the rate at which technology is developing is
growing exponentially. This is where learning and development come in. Our company
needs to create a flat and egalitarian organization and this will be expressed with
common canteens, company uniforms, and similar sickness and holiday entitlement.
Such an egalitarian culture shows that everyone deserves equal respect and could help
in promoting the sharing of ideas. Open communication about strategy, financials, and
operations will be needed on our company to create a culture in which people feel they
are trusted. It truly involves employees in the business. As an additional effect, it
discourages hear-say and negative informal chatter.

Our company should keep the rules as general as possible, to give the employees as
much flexibility as possible in enforcing them. The company's policies/work rules should
reflect the individualism as a businessperson and the individuality of our business. We
will create a simple one- or two-page handout that we will give to each person as we
hire them, covering such things as:

 Safety rules that must be observed

 Absence and tardiness policy (how to report the number of allowable sick days
and personal days off)
 How to record time worked (for example, using a time clock or time sheet)
 Lunch period and break rules
 Overtime policy
 Dress code or personal appearance rules
 Rules covering use or damage to employer's property
 Rules about keeping employer's and customers' sensitive information confidential

The work rules can help the company create and maintain an orderly atmosphere that is
pleasant to work in where employees can work effectively. These are the work rules of
the company that could help improve the quality of work life:

 Creating an atmosphere where employees are treated with dignity and respect
 Helping to ensure that employees conduct themselves in a professional and safe
manner
B - FROST
 Encouraging open communication between you and your employees
 Ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and that they follow the same rules

6.5 COMPANY HISTORY AND OWNERSHIP

The B-frost Company was founded in November 2019. A few days since the beginning
of the month of October, aspiring businessmen noticed the constant craving of students
of the DCNHS-SHS for sweets and cold products like shakes, smoothies, ice-cream,
milktea, and many more. Now they came to mind that "scrambles" are left unnoticed.
This gave them a great idea.

A lot of teens nowadays target to eat and drink healthy while indulging with the trends

of students.

As the time went by, a small business kept on growing and growing as more customers
kept on buying the product. From one stall to another, until there are different branches
