FREE TIME DISCUSSION

1. Do you feel optimistic about New decade challenges?

I feel a little pessimistic when I see how man, in his desire to evolve and create new

things, has become intolerant and lacks solidarity with others, in a world where each

person cares about their individual wellness, forgetting important and definitive factors

in human life as are family and mother nature.

2. Do you have more free time now than when you were a kid?

I think I have more free time now than when I was a child. But most of that time is

wasted.

Home appliances, machines, computers, and cell phones are supposed to be created to

make our lives easier. This would give us more free time for our families, friends, enrich

our faith and exercise.

The reality is that most of us are trapped for a long time in social networks, cell phone

applications and television series, thus causing our interpersonal relationships to

become increasingly fragile.

3. How do free time activities differ now compared with the past?

In the past, we used free time as a family playing board games or doing outdoor

activities that did not require energy consumption. Currently, most people use their free

time glued to a screen, which causes future problems of sedentary lifestyle and

depression.

4. What does the idiom “Time is money.” mean? Do you agree with it?

It means that if we do not use every second that passes in our lives, we will be losing a

fortune, because that lost moment will not be repeated.

I agree with that saying since when we get old it will be too late and we will not be able

to go back in time.
