Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont COVID Update
September 4, 2020
We plan to implement the Hybrid Learning model and extra mitigation measures to enable us to
offer a well rounded education. This will include peer communication, direct instruction from
teachers, and participation in extracurricular activities & co-curricular activities. As a
community, we ask that you help us make this successful.
The entire Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont school district will enter into the Hybrid Learning
Model for all buildings through October 2.
● Half the students will attend school as identified by Group A or Group B. This ensures
social distancing which lessens the number of people affected by contact tracing. If you
do not know your child’s identified group please contact your child’s attendance center.
● Facial coverings are required. This is a mitigation measure county health officials state is
so important to truly reduce the spread that is occurring in our community.
○ When students are outside and social distancing is greater than 6 feet the facial
covering can be removed.
○ When students are eating lunch and social distancing is greater than 6 feet the
facial covering can be removed.
● Calendar: Students attend school on a rotational basis. Groups A & B will rotate every
other Friday. The calendar and rotation of attendance is below.
Our preference is all students attend school each and every day. Right now we are unable to
have all students attend school while maintaining the ability to reduce the spread of the COVID
virus. We are creating a method of education that was inconceivable one year ago, but today it
is our best method to provide a well rounded education.
As we move forward we know that we may need to change course again. In that event, the staff
and administrators assembled at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont feel confident we will be able to
successfully change.
Thank you for your support as we move forward to create a successful, well rounded learning
atmosphere.
Sincerely,
Scott Williamson
Superintendent of Schools
