    Plastic pollution is a growing problem, especially in Asia and Africa where recycling rates are low and plastic collection is inadequate. Plastic, which is made from fossil fuels, has proliferated since World War 2 with thousands of types now in use. However, plastic takes years to decompose and damages the environment through pollution. Millions of animals, including over 700 species, are killed each year by plastic through entanglement, ingestion, or suffocation. By 2050, scientists predict there will be more plastic in oceans than fish if trends continue. The author argues for reducing plastic use and finding alternative materials.

    PLASTIC

    Plastic pollution is becoming a problem around the world, especially in Asia and Africa. The countries
    with low recycling rates, also has trouble properly collecting discarded plastic. Plastic was made from fossil
    fuels just over a century old. After World War 2, people was producing thousands different types of plastic.
    However, those plastic that are being recycled will take years to decompose and it will going to damage the
    environment and cause air pollution.

    Throughout the year millions of animals are killed by plastics. Almost 700 species are being affected by
    plastics. This will most affect the marine life, causes some animals like whales, turtles, seals and other animals
    to be strangled by an abandoned fishing gear. Some are killed by eating plastics, about more than 50 species of
    fish have been found to consume plastic trash at the sea. Scientists said by 2050 there will be more plastic
    waste than fish in the ocean.

    I think we should stop using plastics and use other kinds of materials.
