What you’ll be doing...

As Project Manager - Strategic Initiatives you will lead a portfolio of work in the newly established
Program Management Office (PMO) in the Digital and Customer Experience (DCX) team for Verizon
Business Group’s (VBG’s) Marketing organization. You will work closely with all levels of our
organization, and amongst digital product owners (POs), functional subject matter experts (SMEs),
and IT, in order to ensure we’re delivering the most valuable outcomes at the best time for our
customers.
• Develop a comprehensive program roadmap reflecting planned projects across a digital portfolio,
and oversee the scoping, sizing of costs, and benefits of the projects.
• Support the Front Door Process to prioritize all incoming work requests based on strategic priority,
cost-benefit and resource capacity information.
• Define, document and advocate for program/project planning, execution and reporting standards.
• Lead key strategic digital initiative launches end-to-end, including release planning with Go-to-
Market (GTM) teams, release slotting with IT, and readiness assessments with cross-department
PMOs.
• Optimize, automate, and govern the use of project and portfolio management tools such as JIRA
and Clarity.
• Develop and implement measurable criteria to validate process improvements and evaluate post-
implementation success.
• Ensure the fluid management of integration efforts, working in a matrix environment with high
levels of ambiguity.
• Promote the use of agile and product methodology and mindset to ensure effectiveness and
scalability across DCX.
• Create and foster strong relationships with both business and technical partners.

What we’re looking for...

You have a strong customer orientation, excellent ability to influence, and a passion for executing
large-scale, complex projects and programs.

You’ll need to have:


• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:


• BS/BA or its equivalent in business, management information, project management, technology or
economics or equivalent relevant experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience; preferably in IT or digital marketing, ideally in an
enterprise environment.
• Strategy and operations experience at a leading management consulting firm.
• Experience working in a PMO.
• Presentation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience using customer centric methods and approaches to design products and/or services.
• Experience in collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders.
• Experience formulating and implementing strategies within well-defined time frames w/ multiple
stakeholders.
• Experience in Software Development/Engineering practices, including Agile, DevOps and Cloud
tools and methodologies.
• Intermediate-advanced skill level using project management tools, office productivity, and data
analytics tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Google Suite and/or MS PowerPoint and Excel.
