Do you think the

advantages of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the disadvantages?

Nowadays, museums are considerably imperative for every country to reveal their own history
and culture. However, it is said that some museums are imposed entry fee where few don’t.
There are lots of pros and cons of charging fee to enter the museums. In this essay, I will discuss
some reasons why some museums are charged to visit and some possible challenges to
overcome.

Let’s start by looking advantages of imposing entry fee of museums. One of the positive things is
that it is a way of earning money to maintain the museums. To operate a museum, lots of people
are needed in various functions of a museum such as security force, cleaner, ticket seller, and so
on. Moreover, in every month huge expenditures are incurred to run a museum. Though the local
government may donate little money, it is not adequate to cover the cost.

Secondly, to avoid unnecessary cramped, it is an effective method as well as advantage for

museum authority. It is by no mean that only enthusiastic people go to museum for gathering
knowledge. ‘Bongobondhu memorial museum’, for instance, is visited who love our national
great leader and want to him by spending money.

Turning to the other side of an argument, admission payment is also discouraging factor of
acquiring knowledge. To be more precise, students are not always capable to pay this admission
fee or sometimes they think they can spend that money on other entertainment. For example,
students may go to cinema hall instead of museum when admission fee is applied.

All things considered, museums may be charged at the door at minimal. You need to weigh up
the pros of charging entry subscription and cons of free entrance. Personally, I believe the
benefits of applying charge for ticket price in museums in terms of earning money eventually
outweigh any negatives.
