INTRODUCTION

achieve the highest efficiency. According to the actual statistics, the length of the

Geographical Condition:
Halong Fishery Port located in Cam river in the triangle Hong delta. it’s
convenient in waterway, railway, road inland and airway. Distance from
Halong Fish Portto estuary is about 10km. Co-ordinate 20051’N, 106041’E.
From Haiphong to Hanoi, it’s possible to go in Cam river, Duong river and Kinh
thay river or to go in Dao river, Lach Tray river, Van Uc river, Thai Binh river
and Luoc river to Hong river.
From Haiphong to Mong Cai, it’s possible to go in Bach Dang river, Cai Trap
channel, Lach Huyen river pass the Halong Bay.
Regarding inland transportation: The road 05 is the1st level high way linking
Haiphong to Hanoi. The road 10 is linking Haiphong to Thai Binh and Nam
Dinh and this road possible to go along highway no. 1A to Southern provinces.
Railway routes linking to national railway. Haiphong station and Hanoi station
linking by fa road paralleling with highway no. 05 .
Airway system is convenient. Nowaday, there are Catbi airport and Kien An
military airport in Haiphong. Both of above mention airport are gradualy.

Halong Fishery Port is under mosoon. This wind always appears from October
to April of after year and it blows in periods of 5-7 days. Average speed is
about 10m/s.
In storm seasons, it may be affected from storms informed archipelago
Phillipine blowing in West and Northwest. Storm causes big rain and affect to
port operations.
From May to October always appears Southeast wind.
From June to August always shower and lasting for many days.

Hydrography condition.
1. Water level
Water level at the Cam estuary is homogeneous daytime tide system which in
a month. There are about 25 days when it appear one time eble tide and one
time fflood tide. Tide amplitude is big type about 3 to 4 m at flood tide period
here.
2. Port access channel
Access channel linking Halong Fishery Port with deep sea Tonkin Gulf, it’s
length about 32 km and pass the Cam station, Bach Dang river to Nam Trieu
estuary with average weadth of 100m
