Abstract

This study aims to determine the Awareness of HUMSS Strand

Among Grade 11 Students at La Union National High School

of the

school year 2018-2019. It specifically answered the following questions: (1) What

is the profile of the respondents in terms of Age and Gender? (2) What is the

Awareness of HUMSS strand among Grade 11 HUMSS 1 strand at La

Union National High School?

This study made use of the descriptive survey method design of research.

And a questionnaire was employed as an instrument in data gathering. The

respondents of this study were the Grade 11 students of La Union National High

School enrolled during 1st semester of school year 2018-2019. The specific

problems of this study were statistically treated with percentages for the profile of

the respondents and Average Weighted Mean for their Awareness of HUMSS Strand
among Grade 11 HUMSS 1 strand at La Union National High School.

Based on the data gathering the respondents, the researchers found out the

following:

1. For the profile of the respondents, it has been found out that most of them were

from the age bracket of 17-19 years old or 30%of the total of the respondents.

Moreover, most of them were also females of 83.33% of the total of respondents.

2. For the extent of Awareness of HUMSS strand among Grade 11 HUMSS 1 students,
this study

found out the following:

A. Awareness of HUMSS strand among Grade 11 HUMSS 1 students: I take public

transportation

The overall result for the extent of Awareness of HUMSS Strand among
Grade 11 HUMSS 1 student at La Union National High School a mean of showed
16.66 which means that only few boys of the respondents are taking the HUMSS
strand.
