Teacher’s notes for using search engines and links:

Part 1 Exercise 1
Students enter the codes into the search engine. Each code brings up a
photograph. Students move their mouse over the picture, and a caption
appears which tells them where the picture was taken. They do not need to
To bring up the next picture, they enter the next code. They do not need to go
back on their browser.

Part 1 Exercise 2
Entering Tuvalu into the search engine brings up pictures of the island group.

Part 2 Exercise 1
When students open this website, they play the video by clicking on the play
key in the bottom left corner of the video image (they should make sure the
sound is turned up). They should then move their mouse away from the video
image: the video ‘controls’ disappear when they do this, but reappear when
the mouse is moved back over the image. Most of the answers they need
appear as text on the video screen, but they will also need to listen out for
others. Students can pause the video if it is too fast for them.
