together, turn the wrench in a clockwise direction until you hear one “click.”
Generator Self Test,

Generator Self-Test
Note: Do not turn the generator power on before the hand piece and instrument are connected to the generator. Read and follow the Instructions
for Use prior to assembly and use.

Plug the hand piece into the appropriate generator port. Turn on the generator by pressing the power button on HARMONIC ACE® Curved Shears Components

When assembled, the jaws of the device close automatically. The jaws must be open during the generator self-test. (PN – 400274 / 420274) (PN – 400275 / 420275) (PN – 400272)
An error may occur if the jaws are closed during the generator self-test.
To open the jaws: Hold the instrument housing with one hand, and with the other hand push only the
plastic ring of the Insert toward the housing without touching the hand piece. Holding the hand piece while
pushing the Insert can cause the self-test to fail. Compatible Ethicon Endo-Surgery Components
With the jaws open and away from any obstruction, activate the HARMONIC System by pressing the foot pedal.
“TEST IN PROGRESS” will appear on the generator’s graphic display, and audible tones will indicate the test is in
progress. If no errors are identified, the device is ready for use.
