THE MAGNUS OPUS OR THE GREAT WORK

Q
Dear brothers, today we are meeting here with the
purpose of researching, studying and defining the path to be
lead us to final liberation.

The ancient medieval alchemists talked about the Great Work, and
that's quite interesting.

On the ground, on the floor of the ancient Gothic Cathedrals, they looked
multitude of concentric circles, forming a veritable labyrinth that
it reached or went from the center to the periphery and from the periphery to the center. Much is
what has been said about labyrinths; the tradition also speaks about the
Cretan Labyrinth and about the famous Cretan Minotaur. Certainly in
Crete recently found a labyrinth (they called it "Absolum";
as one who says: "Absolute". Absolute is the term used by the
medieval alchemists to designate the Philosopher's Stone. So here is a
great mystery.

We need, like Theseus, Ariadna's thread to get out of

that mysterious labyrinth. Obviously, you have to get in and out of the maze.

In the center was always the Minotaur. Theseus achieved

defeat him (there is the Greek tradition). We also need
defeat it, we need to destroy the animal Ego.

To get to the center of the labyrinth, where the Minotaur is, you have to
fight a lot. There are innumerable theories, schools of all kinds,
organizations of all kinds. Some say that the road is over there, others that
around here, others than there, and we have to orient ourselves in
the middle of that great labyrinth of theories and antithetical concepts, if at all
we really want to reach the living center of it, because it is
precisely in the center where we can find the Minotaur.

When one has reached the center of the maze, one has to
manage to get out of it. Theseus, by means of a mysterious thread (the thread of
Ariadna), managed to get out of the strange labyrinth.

That of "Ariadna" resembles Hiram, the Secret Master that

occult masonry speaks and that we must all resurrect within
ourselves, here and now. "Ariadna" also indicates the "spider",
symbol of the Soul that weaves the loom of destiny incessantly.

So, brothers, the time has come to reflect.

But, what is that thread of Ariadna really? What is that thread that
saves the Soul, which allows him to leave that mysterious labyrinth to reach
to your Real Inner Being? Much has been said on the subject; the
great alchemists thought it was the Philosopher's Stone. We are
okay with that, but let's go a little further, okay with
our disquisitions, since in truth the Philosopher's Stone is
symbolized in the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris by Lucifer (now
we will understand why the Philosopher's Stone is in the same sex).
So we discovered Lucifer in sex.

Lucifer is, then, the thread of Ariadne that has to lead us to the
final release. This seems something like this, shall we say, as antithetical or
paradoxical, because everyone has conceptualized that Lucifer (the Devil, Satan)
it is evil.

We need obvious self-reflection, if we want to

delve into the Great Arcanum. That Lucifer that we find in sex is the
living stone, head of the corner, the master stone, the pebble of the corner
(in the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris), the stone of truth. Delve a
Little, then, in these Mysteries, is indispensable when it comes to knowing
Ariadna's thread.

I once again remind you of the famous Sacred Shrines of

perplexed, he contemplated an unusual figure. There he was, in his presence, the
Macho Cabrío de Méndez (strange figure: the Devil). On his forehead were the
horns, above his head a fiery torch (however, something indicated
that it was a symbol). In the Lumisial of Initiation, the neophyte

He stood before the figure of Tiphon Baphomet, the terrible figure of the Arcanum 15
Caballa (the torch, burning above his head, shone. Furthermore, the
five-pointed flaming star, with the upper angle upwards and the
two lower angles down, indicates that it was not a
shadowy figure). The neophyte was ordered to kiss the Devil's rear. If he
The neophyte disobeyed, the bandage was put on him again and he was removed by a
secret door (all this happened at midnight; the neophyte never knew
where he had entered or where he had left, because initiates
always met at midnight, taking great care not to be
victims of the Inquisition). More if in neophyte he obeyed, then in that
cube (on which the figure of Baphomet was seated) a
door. An Isis would come out there who received the initiate with open arms,
giving him, immediately, a holy kiss on the forehead. From that moment, that
Neophyte was a new brother, Initiate of the Order.

That Goat, that Tiphon Baphomet, that Lucifer, is quite

interesting, because it is sexual energy, the energy to know
use, if we want to do the Great Work.

Now you will understand why Tiphon Baphomet, the Goat

de Méndez, represents the Philosopher's Stone, sex. It is with that force
tremendous to work with. Let us remember that the Ark of the
Alliance, in ancient times, had four goat horns on
the four corners (corresponding to the four cardinal points of the
Earth) and when it was transported, it was always grasped or grabbed by those
four horns.

Cabrio de Méndez. That is why Michelangelo, by chiselling it in the stone
alive, he put those symbolic horns on his head. Is that the male
Cabrío represents the sexual force, but also the Devil; but that devil
or Lucifer, is the same virile power that duly transmuted, we
allows the intimate self-realization of the Being. That is why it has been said that "Lucifer
He is the Prince of Heaven, Earth and Hell. "

In the old Gothic cathedrals, all this was planned. Until the

plant of the temples was organized in the shape of a cross, and this
reminds of the "crucis", "crux", "crucible", etc. We already know that the vertical stick
the cross is masculine and the horizontal is feminine. At the crossroads of
both, is the key to all mysteries. The crossing of both is the
crucible of medieval alchemists, in which you have to cook and anneal and
re-cook the raw material of the Great Work. That raw material is
sacred sperm, which transformed into energy. It is with that
very subtle energy with which we can open a Chakra, awaken
all hidden (magical) powers, create the Existential Bodies
Superiors of Being, etc. This is quite important, quite interesting.
The cross itself is a sex symbol. On the cross is the Lingam-Yoni
of the Great Arcanum. In the two beams crossed by the cross, are the
tracks of the three nails. Those three nails, although it is true that they allow
open the stigmata of the initiate (that is, the Chakras of the palms of the
hands and feet, etc.), also symbolize, in themselves, the Three
Purifications of the Christ in substance; this is another momentous mystery.

In any case, my dear brothers, doing the Great Work is for the
the only one worth living.

Peter, the beloved disciple of Our Lord The Christ, has as

Gospel to the Great Arcanum, to the Mysteries of Sex. That is why Jesus
called "Petrus" (Stone): "You are Stone and on that Stone I will build my
Church. "It is then sex, the basic stone, the cubic stone, the Stone

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f 4/16

Philosopher that we must chisel, with a chisel and hammer, to

transform it into the perfect Cubic Stone.

That uncut stone (the rough stone, itself), is Lucifer. Already

Chiseled is our Interior Logoi, the "Arché" of the Greeks.

The important thing, then, is to chisel it, work with it, elaborate it, give it
perfect cubic shape.

Among the disciples of Christ there are true wonders and wonders.
Let us remember for a moment Santiago, that great Master. They say it is
the one who most resembled the Great Kabir Jesus; they called him the "brother of
Sir ", and it is obvious that he had great psychic, magical powers.

Page 5

Santiago was the first who, after the death of the Great Kabir, officiated the
Gnostic Mass in Jerusalem. They tell the traditions that he had to
face the Black Magician Hermogenes, in Judea. Santiago, as you like
who knew High Magic, wisely fought the dark. If he used
a shroud of wonders, for example, this one used to counter it, and
If Hermogenes used the magic staff, Santiago used a similar one, and at last
defeated the tenebrous one in the lands of Judea. However, it was considered
"Magician" (and he was, beyond all doubt) and was sentenced to death. More something
unusual happens: it is the case that the sarcophagus of Santiago was suspended
in the air, as they say, and was transported to ancient Spain. It is true
that there is talk of Santiago de Compostela, and they say about it, that
"rose from the dead" and that "in that land he was attacked by the
demons (with the figure of a bull), by live fire. "In short, many
things about Santiago.

Nicolás Flamel, the great medieval alchemist, had Santiago de

Compostela as Patron of the Great Work. On the way to Santiago de
Compostela there is a street that they call "Santiago" and there is also a
cave that they call "the cave of health". By the time when people
makes pilgrimages to where Santiago de Compostela is, for that
same epoch the alchemists meet (in such a cave), those who are

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f 5/16

working in the Great Work, those who admire not only Santiago de
Compostela (whom they have as a blessed Patron), but also Jacobo De
Morai. They always meet there, at the time of pilgrimages.

Thus, while people are worshiping (exoteric,

say) to Santiago de Compostela, alchemists and cabalists are
gathered in mystical assembly to study Kabbalah, Alchemy and all
the Mysteries of the Great Work. You see the two aspects (exoteric and
esoteric) of Christianity. Undoubtedly, all this invites us to
reflection.

Jacobo De Morai, who was burned alive during the Inquisition, is

had (by those alchemists and kabbalists who gather in the "cave of
health ") in the same way that you have Hiram Abiff as the Master
Secret that must resurrect in each one of us, and Santiago as the
blessed Patron of the Great Work, and this is quite interesting.

Iglesia Cristiana-Gnostica Litelantes and Samael Aun Weor

www.iglisaw.com

Page 6

The Great Work is what we are interested in doing, and it is (I believe and
surely, I affirm) the only thing worth living for. The
others, it does not matter.

They say that the Patron Santiago, in Compostela, appears to

pilgrims with the hat thrown up, in his hand the cane, the
like the Caduceus of Mercury, and a tortoise shell on his chest,
as if to symbolize the flaming star.
I advise you to study the "Universal Epistle" of Santiago, in the
Bible. It is undoubtedly wonderful. It is addressed to all those who
we work in the Great Work.

Santiago says that "faith without works is dead in itself" (nothing is worth it).
You can hear here, from my lips, all the doctrine of the Great
Arcane, all the explanations we give about the alchemists and the Great
Work, but if you do not carry out that Great Work, if you do not work in the Great
Work, if they only have faith, nothing more, and do not work, they would look alike (says Santiago

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f 6/16
9/3/2020 THE MAGNUS OPUS OR THE GREAT WORK

and I repeat) "to the man who looks at a mirror, who sees his face in the glass, gives the
back and leaves ", forgetting about the incident.

If you listen to all the explanations we give and they don't work
In the Forge of the Cyclops, they do not manufacture the Superior Existential Bodies
of Being, they resemble that man who "looks in the mirror, turns around and
goes ", because faith without works is worth nothing. It is necessary, that the work supports
Faith; faith must speak with works.

Santiago says that "we need to be merciful." That is clear

because if we are merciful, the Lords of Karma
they will judge with mercy; but if we are ruthless, the Lords
Karma will judge us ruthlessly. And however the
Mercy has more power than Justice, it is certain that if we are
Merciful, we can eliminate a lot of Karma; all this invites us to
reflection.

Santiago says that we "have to restrain the tongue" (that

who knows how to restrain the tongue, can restrain the whole body), and makes us

Iglesia Cristiana-Gnostica Litelantes and Samael Aun Weor

www.iglisaw.com

Page 7

as an example the case of the horse (the horse is put the bridle in the mouth, in
the muzzle and that is how we manage to master it, handle it). The same
would happen if we restrained the tongue: we would become masters of everything
our body.

Santiago says: "Also look at the ships; although so large and

carried by mighty winds, they are ruled with a very small
rudder "(which is truly small, compared to the huge
size of ships). The tongue is small, yes, but how big
fires way!

We are taught, in that epistle, never to boast of anything. That

who is boastful of himself, of his works, of what he has done,
undoubtedly he is arrogant, pedantic, and fails in the Great Work.
We need to humble ourselves before the divinity, to be more and more every day

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f 7/16
9/3/2020 THE MAGNUS OPUS OR THE GREAT WORK

humble, if we want to work in the Great Work; never show off

you're welcome, always be simple. That is vital when you want to succeed in the
Great Work, in the Magnus Opus.

That epistle is written with a double meaning. If you read it

they literally wouldn't understand it. This is how the Protestants, the
Adventists, Catholics, etc., and have not understood it. That epistle has a
double meaning and is directed exclusively to those who work in the Great
Work.

As for faith, it is necessary to have it (of course). Every alchemist must

have faith, every Kabbalist must have faith, but faith is not something empirical, something
is given to us as a gift. Faith must be manufactured; we cannot demand from anyone
have faith: it has to be manufactured, elaborated. How is this made? Based
study and experience. Could anyone have faith, of this that we are
us saying here, if you don't study and experiment for yourself?
Obviously not! Right? More, as we study and
experiencing, we understand, and from that creative understanding
true faith becomes. So faith is not something empirical; no. U.S
we need to manufacture it. Later, yes, much later, the Holy Spirit, the
Third Logos, could consolidate it in us, fortify it and strengthen it;
but we must manufacture it.

Another quite interesting Apostle (who counts for us in this

narrow, narrow and difficult path that we take), is Andrés. It is said that he,
at Nicaea, he conjured seven wicked demons and made them appear before
the crowds, in the form of seven dogs that fled in terror. Much
There has been talk about Andrés, and there is no doubt that he was extraordinary, that
it was charged with great power. The reality is that Andrés, the great
Master, disciple of Christ, he was sentenced to death and tortured. The cross
de San Andrés invites us to reflect: it is an X (yes, an X). His two
arms, extended to the right and left and both legs spread sideways
and side, form X and on that X was crucified Saint Andrew.

That X is very symbolic. In Greek it is equivalent to a K, which reminds us

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f 8/16
9/3/2020 THE MAGNUS OPUS OR THE GREAT WORK

to the Crestos.

Unquestionably, the drama of

Andrew by the great Initiate Monk Bacon. The latter, in his book (the most
extraordinary that he has written) called "El Azud", puts a picture in
the one that clearly looks like a dead man. However, this one treats as
to raise the head, as to stretch, as to resuscitate, while
two black crows are removing their meat with their steely beaks. The soul
and the Spirit rise from the corpse, and this comes to remind us of the phrase of
all initiates, who says: "The flesh abandons the bones" ... Saint Andrew,
dying on an X-shaped cross, he is speaking precisely of the
disintegration of the Ego: that it must be reduced to cosmic dust, that there is
than to dismember it. "The flesh leaves the bones" ... Only then is it possible that
the Secret Master (Hiram Abiff) resurrect within ourselves, here
and now. Otherwise, it would be impossible (in the Great Work we must die of
moment to moment, moment to moment).

And what would we say about Juan? He is, beyond all doubt, the Patron of the
Gold makers. Has anyone ever made gold? Yes; let's remember
to Raimundo Lulio. He did it: he enriched the coffers of Felipe El Hermoso,
France, and those of the King of England.

Letters from Raimundo Lulio are still remembered. One of them talks about
"a beautiful diamond", with which he would present none other than the King of
England (dissolved a crystal, between the crucible, and then, putting water and

mercury on that crystal, transformed it into a gigantic diamond,

extraordinarily fine, with which he presented the King of England). And in
As for the transmutation of lead into gold, it was done thanks to mercury

Raimundo Lulio enriched all of Europe with his foundries, and without
Yet he remained poor. Extraordinary traveler from all countries
of the world, at last he was stoned to death in one of those lands (reflect on
in this).

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f 9/16
9/3/2020 THE MAGNUS OPUS OR THE GREAT WORK

Thus John, the Apostle of Jesus, is the Patron of the makers of

gold.

It is said that on some occasion, he found on his way, in a town

out there, from the Orient, to a philosopher who tried to convince people,
show them what he could do with the word, with the verb. Two young people,
who had listened to his teachings, abandoned their wealth,
they sold, and with them they bought a great diamond. They put, in the presence
from the honorable public, the diamond in the hands of the philosopher; this one gave it back
and they, with a stone, destroyed the gem. Juan protested saying: "With
such a gem could be fed to the poor "... They say that before the
Crowds rebuilt the gem and then sold it, to feed
the crowds. But the young, repentant, said to themselves: "What
we were fools to have left all our riches to buy a
great diamond that is now shattered and then rebuilt to
distribute it among the nations! "But John, who saw all things in Heaven and
of the Earth (and who knew how to transmute lead into gold), had
shores of the sea (nearby), some stones and some reeds (the stone,
symbol of the Philosopher's Stone, of sex, and the reed, symbol of the thorn
dorsal, for there is the power to transmute lead into gold), and then
turning those reeds and stones into gold, he returned the
riches to the young; but he said to them: "You have lost the best.
what you gave, but lost what you had achieved in the worlds
superiors. "Then, approaching a woman who had died, he resurrected her.
She then recounted what she had seen outside the body and also addressed
to those young people, saying that "he had seen his Guardian Angels
crying with great bitterness, because they had lost the best for the

www.iglisaw.com

Page 10

vain perishable things "... It is clear that the young people repented,
returned the gold to Juan, and Juan returned that gold to what it was (in
reeds and stones), and became his disciples.

Thus, Juan and the "Order of San Juan" invite us to think. Juan is
Patron of those who make gold; we need to transmute lead
https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f 10/16
9/3/2020 THE MAGNUS OPUS OR THE GREAT WORK

of the personality in the most living gold of the Spirit. For something is that
calls, the great Masters of the White Lodge, "Brothers of the Order of
San Juan".

Many believe that John, the Apostle of the Master Jesus, disincarnated;
but he did not disincarnate. Old traditions say he had his grave dug
sepulchral, who lay down on it, who shone in light and disappeared (the
pit was empty).

We know that John, the Apostle of Christ, lives with himself

body that he had in the Holy Land and that lives precisely in Agarta, in the
Underground kingdom, where the Order of Melchizedek is, and that
accompany the King of the World (see how interesting this is).

Thus entering the Magisterium of Fire, we must define something (to

clarify): it is necessary, as I have said to you, to transmute the
sacred sperm in energy. When this is accomplished, the fire that
it goes up the spine, and the Great Work begins to take place. U.S
We need to create the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being, but that does not
It's enough. It is necessary, it is indispensable, it is urgent to cover those
vehicles (after) with the different parts of the Being; more, to cover them
they must be perfected, turned into pure gold, into spiritual gold of
true. Do not be surprised, then, that Juan or Santiago have an Astral Body
of pure gold, a Mental of the same metal, or a Causal, or the Buddha, or the
Atmic, because they managed to do the Great Work.

If for something Count San Germán could transmute lead into gold, it is
because he himself was gold. Count San Germán's aura is pure gold; the
atoms that make up that aura are gold, and their Existential Bodies
Superior, they are gold of the best quality. Under those conditions, he can
throw a coin into the crucible, yes, and melt it, and then with the same power

Iglesia Cristiana-Gnostica Litelantes and Samael Aun Weor

that he carries inside, transmute it into pure gold, because he is gold (that's what
it is called "doing the Great Work").

In this there are degrees and degrees. First you have to achieve Mastery,
then we have to become Perfect Teachers and much more
later reach the rank of Great Chosen. Great Chosen and Perfect Master, is
everyone who has done the Great Work.

Just as we find ourselves, we really are wrong. U.S

we need to go through a radical transformation and that is just
possible, really, destroying the inhuman elements and creating the
humans. Only in this way will we march towards final liberation.

In the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris, as I told you, in a little corner

is the master stone, or the corner stone (which the builders of all
sects, schools, religions and others rejected), the chosen stone,
beautiful, but has the figure of Lucifer, and this scares the layman.

Unquestionably, my dear brothers, only there (in sex)

we can find that Luciferian principle that is the very basis of the
self realisation.

But why is Lucifer the thread of Ariadne? Why is it precisely

he, who is to lead us to final liberation, when in truth he has been
had for evil? I have said many times, and I have stated it emphatically
in this chair, that Lucifer is the reflection of the Inner Logoi (within
ourselves), the shadow of our Intimate God, in us and for
our good, because he is the coach.

God cannot tempt us; we are tempted by our own

lusts (as taught by Santiago, the Patron of Alchemy, the
Patron of the Great Work). So what does Lucifer do? He is worth
of our own lusts, makes them pass through the screen of the
understanding, for the purpose of training ourselves psychologically, of
make us strong; more if we fail, we fail in the Great Work.

However, we can fail and rectify. If we rectify, we triumph

Iglesia Cristiana-Gnostica Litelantes and Samael Aun Weor

www.iglisaw.com

in the Great Work. Anyone can fail and by their failures they know they have
crimes to correct, to eliminate. Thus Lucifer trains us, educates us,
form, and by force of so much training it frees us, it leads us
(from Sphere to Sphere) to our Hiram Abiff.

Lucifer is, then, the thread of Ariadne that leads us to our God
Interior, which takes us out of this painful labyrinth of life, through the
esoteric work. He, again and again, makes it happen, through the screen of our
understanding, our own lusts (which are not others, but the
ours). Defeat them, eliminate them, disintegrate them, turn them into dust, is what
indicated. Thus, taking steps and steps more and more advanced, we go
starting from the center of the labyrinth towards the periphery, to arrive one day until
our God.

That is the work of Lucifer. He is the thread of Ariadna, he is the Stone

Philosopher. For something is that the pilgrims of the Cathedral of Notre Dame de
Paris, they put out their candles in Lucifer's stony jaws, in the
"corner stone", as they say there.

Much has been said about magical powers. Yes: we can reach
have them, but we need, unquestionably, to create a lot within
us, and destroy too much (there is much to spare and much to
lack).

Everyone believes that they possess the Superior Existential Bodies

of Being, and that is not so. It is necessary to create them, and it is not possible to create them
but in the Forge of the Cyclops, that is, through sex work.

We will be told that we are "sex freaks." They are wrong: what happens
is that we have a "laboratory", which is our own body, and a
"stove" in the "laboratory" (the alchemist's fire) and a "crucible" (which
it is in sex) and there the "raw material" of the Great Work.

Transmuting it is essential, converting it into energy, in order to

then with that energy, and with what it contains, create the Bodies
Existential Superiors of Being. That is what is vital, what is indispensable.

There will come a day when we will have to move beyond sex. The
It would be absurd to want to go beyond sex without having reached the goal.
That would be as much as wanting to get off the train, before reaching the station,
or like wanting to get off the bus or "truck" (where we are going), before
reach the goal that we have set.

In sex you have to create and you have to destroy. Create the vehicles
solar, it is necessary so that the Interior God can resurrect in us,
and also eliminate the inhuman elements that we carry within.

All gathered here, we must understand. Not enough that

you listen to what I'm saying; it is necessary that they do it,
because faith without works is dead faith. Faith needs to be accompanied
with the work.

The Great Work must be done, but it is not enough to have faith in the Great Work.
Work: the Great Work must be done.

And the final result of the Great Work, what will it be? That each of
us to become a great God, with power over the Heavens, over the
Earth and over Hell. That is the end, the result of the Great Work: that
each one of us is turned into a Majesty, a creature
terribly divine. More, today, we must recognize that not even
we are humans; We are only humanoid (in a more crude way I would say
that we are intellectual mammals, and nothing else); but we can get out of
this state in which we find ourselves, through the Great Work.

Hiram Abiff is the Secret Master, the Third Logos (Shiva), the
firstborn of Creation, our Real Inner Divine Being, our
True and individual monad. We need to resurrect her, because she is
dead within us, although alive to the ineffable worlds.

Raymond Lulio did the Great Work: he received in the Astral World the
Great Arcanum, and it was with that "Master Key" that he was able to work on the Great
Work.

Raymond Lulio, undoubtedly, knew outside the physical body what

which is the sacred conception of the Divine Mother, the Kundalini Shakti. To the
know how this sacred conception was realized, he proposed to materialize
(from on high) the sacred conception himself, until he achieved it.

Undoubtedly, the Divine Mother must conceive (by work and grace
of the Third Logos) to the Son. She remains Virgin before delivery, in childbirth
and after delivery. That Child that she conceives must materialize,
crystallize in us from above, from above, until we are covered
completely with our physical body, with our planetary body. To the
To reach that degree, it can be said that the Great Work has been accomplished. In others
terms: we must resurrect Hiram Abiff within us.
