COMPETENCY-BASED CURRICULUM

A. Course Design

Course Title: HAIRDRESSING NC II


Nominal Duration: 656 hours

Qualification Level: NC Level II


Course Description: This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills
and desirable attitudes in hairdressing in accordance with
industry standards. It covers basic hair care services
such as hair coloring, bleaching, haircutting, straightening
and perming and basic make-up application.

To complete the course, all units prescribed for this


qualification must be achieved:

Trainee Entry
Requirements: This section specifies the qualifications of trainees
including their education/experience. To qualify as trainee
for HAIRDRESSING NC II, a learner:

 Must be able to communicate effectively both


orally and in written form
 Must be physically, emotionally and mentally fit
 Must secure a medical certificate for fitness to
handle chemicals
 Must be able to perform basic mathematical
computation (Fundamental Operations)

* The list does not include specific institutional


requirements such as educational attainment,
appropriate work experience, and others that may be
required of the trainees by the school or training center
delivering the TVET program

Qualification of
Instructors/Trainers: To qualify as trainer for HAIRDRESSING NC II level, a
person must:

 Must be a holder of Hairdressing NC III certificate
 Must have at least two (2) years relevant teaching experience
 Must possess good moral character
