EXPERIENCE(S)
2007: Participated in KAIS (Kenya aids indicator survey) as an interviewer for
three months in western province and part of Nairobi province
Activities: Interviewing Individuals and Filing in Questionnaires.

2007-2009: In my training, I was attached to various hospitals including


Kakamega provincial general hospital, Kitale district hospital as a medical record
technician:
Activities: 1. Coding and indexing of diseases using the ICD 10.
2. Collection and calculation of hospital statistics e.g. Daily Bed
Returns.
3. Reception, registration, admission and discharge of patients.
4. Filing and retrieval of files in the medical record unit.
5. Registration of B1 and D1 forms.
2009: Volunteered at st. Francis community hospital as a medical record
technician for six months

2010: Currently working with Coptic Hope center as a Medical Record and
Information Officer.
Activities:
1. Establishes, organizes and maintains a medical record system in
accordance with department and the hospital.
2. Coordinates all activities of the medical records office.
3. Responsible for any file movement both in and out of the department or
the institution
4. Develops policies and procedures relating to the development and use of
the medical records
5. Attends, develops, organizes, and or conducts education and training
programs, as needed, regarding medical record development in relation to
other staffs or the new staffs in the institution
6. Enters outpatient data(outpatient morbidity under 5 and above 5
years, PITC results) using access database on a daily basis
7. Maintains records, prepares both institutional and district reports as may
be needed as from time to time, including: - MOH717, MOH705A,
MOH705B, SERVICE DELIVERY REPORT among others.
8. Supervise medical record clerks and assisting staff in the department
9. Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality of
patient files is maintained according to the ethics of medical records
10. Assesses the accuracy of the medical records to ensure conformance with
policies, rules, and regulations and to ensure consistency and
completeness in medical records
11. Performs related work as assigned by the program manager
