3 Results
The test conducted on the material sample labelled "AEROFOAM NBR" in the way as described in chapter 2
yielded the following levels - expressed as mas.-% - after filtration and potentiometric respectively photometric
analysis of the eluate as means of double determinations as shown in table 1.

4 Assessment
According to standard DIN 1988 ("Technical Rules for Drinking Water Installations, Prevention of Corrosions
Damage and Calculus Build-up"), part 200, paragraph 14.2.5 „Compatibility with pipe materials“, Version of
May 2012, the following requirements have been specified, among other things:
"Insulating materials for tubes of stainless steels must not exceed a mass content of 0.05 % of water-soluble chloride
ions."
Furthermore, it says:
„Insulations for copper materials must be free of nitride (mass percentage rate<0.01 %) and must not contain an
ammonia mass content of more than 0.2 %.”
These requirements are completely fulfilled by the tested insulation material labelled "Aerofoam NBR/Flexicell
NBR”.

The determination of the chloride and fluoride anions was carried out using ion chromatography (IC) in
accordance with sections 7.2.2.2 and 7.2.3.2 of the standard.
The determination of the silicate and the sodium content of the extract were made using inductively coupled
plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) in accordance with sections 7.2.4.3 and/or 7.2.5.3.
The pH value was determined using a pH measurement device in accordance with section 7.2.6 of the standard.
pH value 7,74 --
