Experience
[WIP] Prototype AutonomousRobot January 2018 – October 2018
Robotics Engineer Florida International University Miami, FL
Environment: Raspberry Pi, Python, ROS - Kinetic
Created, aprototype robotcapable ofclassical autonomous functionality through the integrated use of computer aided vision
software, object collision avoidance systems, and localization and mapping.

● Created a program that uses a camera and open source computer vision software that allows a robotic platform to identify
colors, and various features, and tracks/moves with the object.

● Designed a controllable robotic platform capable of traversing difficult, and uneven terrain, and can navigate through a maze
autonomously by usingvarious ultrasonic range finding sensors.
● Incorporateda simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm to the platform using a LiDAR unit, IMU and
odometry measurements, with current work devoted to mapping improvements and introduction to machine learning
algorithms and techniques.

Snow Traction System August 2017 – December 2017

Prototype Engineer Florida International University Miami, FL
Environment: Solidworks
Created, and assisted others in the design prototype for an attachable system that can be mounted to a standard car tire that can
provide grip and traction to a vehicle while driving on an icy road.
● Developed and assisted in designing a working external attachment system capable transmitting mechanical motion across
multiple outputs.
● Developed a mechanical actuation system to transform the system for implementation on the outer surface of most
commercially available car tires.
● Used AutoCAD software to assist in development of initial design, performed a variety of studies and simulations on the
system using to determine the best method for installation that resulted in an installation time of 2-3min

Car Floatation System: May 2017 – July 2017

Design Engineer Florida International University Miami, FL
Conducted research, design, and created the conceptual design for a proposed device that would allow a vehicle to float on the
surface of water.
 Performed engineering analysis and compared to experimental calculations to determine a rapid method of deployment for
quick resurfacing.
 Designed an external attachment system through Solidworks.
