Identification, Wear your Monash University name badge. Take your Monash
emergencies & student card.
OHS Monash ID and Alfred Visitors security cards must be worn at all
times. Alfred Visitors security cards (which include emergency
codes) will be supplied upon arrival. If necessary, dial 88 for
emergencies. In an emergency in your area, follow the
instructions of the local emergency officer (LEO).

Occupational safety/accidents – report any incidents or


accidents as soon as possible to your supervisor and to Monash.
Covered by Monash insurance scheme.

Dress Standards Please follow the dress standard as outlined in the Professional
attire code
Car parking and • Public transport is strongly encouraged as parking is difficult

• Trains: Prahran railway station is only a short stroll along
Greville St from The Alfred (10mins walk)
• Buses: Bus routes from the city 216, 219 and 220 will take
passengers to The Alfred
• Trams: From Swanston Street City. All trams except numbers
8 and 1 travel along St Kilda Rd. Tram no 72 does travel
along Commercial Road and there is a tram stop at the Main
Entrance of The Alfred
• Private parking: (early bird is cheaper) available on St Kilda
Rd e.g. Mercure Albert Park Hotel
• Alfred Hospital visitors’ parking: enter from Commercial Rd
(but ~$27/day and usually fills up by 9am)
• Street parking is not advised as there are time and permit
restrictions for nearby streets

You will be spending time with a clinical pharmacist on a


hospital ward for a short time during your placement. This
session will be purely observational. You will not be required to
liaise with patients or other health professionals during this
time (unless your supervisor negotiates this with you). Respect
patient confidentiality when viewing patient information and
when discussing patient information.
Other Personal mobile telephones should only be used during breaks
and not in public work areas. Photographs are not to be taken
while on placement at The Alfred.
