1. Identify the different parts of the microscope
- Binocular eyepiece (may have a monocular eyepiece)
- Objective lenses (usually has three objectives)
- Stage (the platform you use to perform your slides)
- Light source (main/actual source of light)
- Course focus control
- Fine focus control
- Diaphragm
- Dimmer Switch
- Stage Control Adjustments

2. Learn how to locate and focus on an object (specimen) in the microscope


3. Adjust the optics to obtain a clear image of the specimen
4. Observe the details of a specimen under high power
- #2-4 completed virtually

Microscope Measurement​:
1. Calibrate your microscope
- That is when you calculate the different diameters of the fields of view at each
magnification
2. Use your microscope calibration to estimate the size of objects
