BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC: -

Telecommunication started only after Graham Bell invented telephone, prior


to that few traditional method were adopted to send the messages to each
other i.e. direct delivery, even pigeons were used to deliver the written
messages but these were very limited sources of communications.

As the world progresses lot of new inventions took place. Telephone largely
used to interact the person away from us, it was a fixed instrument which
could not be carry from one place to another and need for wireless
instrument gave birth to cellular phones or wireless communication.

In the initial stage the size of the mobile phones was very large but over a
period of time technology developed and lot radical changes made in the
size and utility of it. Not only has it become the means of only
communication but also a entertainment device. Mobiles fully loaded with
GPRS, Internet, music players and cameras came in the market and
communication became at fingertips. At the push of one button without any
wire connectivity one can access internet, speak the person on call and want
to call.

As the mobile phones entered in the market the companies providing cellular
services came in to existence i.e. BSNL, RELIANCE, VODAFONE, IDEA,
TATA INDICOM and competition started among them. One of the
companies named Bharati Airtel limited is also the service provider about
which brief introduction is as under

Bharti Airtel Limited formerly known as Bharti Tele-Ventures LTD


(BTVL) is an Indian company offering telecommunications services in 19
countries. It is the largest cellular service provider in India, with more than
141 million subscriptions as of August 2010. Bharti Airtel is the world's
third largest, single-country mobile operator and fifth largest telecom
operator in the world with a subscriber base of over 180 million. It also
offers fixed line services and broadband services. It offers its telecom
services under the Airtel brand. Airtel is the first Indian telecom service
provider to achieve this Cisco Gold Certification. The company also
provides land-line telephone services and broadband Internet access (DSL)
in over 96 cities in India. It also acts as a carrier for national and
international long distance communication services.
The study of the project is going to analyze the market share of the company
and consumer satisfaction for the services provided by it.

TOOLS OF THE DATA COLLECTION

There are two type of method of data collection.

1. PRIMARY DATA
2. SECONDARY DATA

PRIMARY DATA:-

 Customers choice
 Telephonic questionnaire
 Marketing personnel’s questionnaire

Questionnaire for the customers:-

 Which cellular services do you use


 What kind of services would you prefer
 What type of plan you prefer prepaid post paid
 Which was your first choice when you mobile phone
 Which feature of Airtel are better than other companies

Questionnaire for the marketing managers and marketing personnel’s:-

• What kind of strategy do you use to convince the common man to use
the cellular services of your company?
• How do you provide service in cheap cost?
• Which people are your targeted customers?
• Which type of advertisement you give to attract the customer?
• Are there any scheme offered by the Airtel which the customer most
like.

SECONDRY DATA:-

1. Internet

Analysis of the obtained data will be represented in the various charts, those
will be:-
1) Graphical Charts
2) Pie charts
3) Tabulation charts

HYPOTHESIS: The survey of the Airtel company shows that market


share of the company will not decline in near future as it has captured 38 %
share in the market.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
2.1 RESEARCH DESIGN

Marketing research is often concerned with the behaviors of the consumer in


the respect marketing research have drawn heavily on the behavioral
Sciences such a psychology and sociology in fact the contribution of these
science to marketing research have been very significant.

2.2 Method of data collection

Questionnaire:

This is the most popular method for conducting the survey. It helped in
collecting the information from the framed question, to get maximum
necessary data for research.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:-

To be globally admired for telecom services we will meet global


standards for telecom services that delight customers through:

• Customer Service Focus


• Empowered Employees
• Cost Efficiency
• Innovative products and services
• Error- free service delivery
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:-

1. To study the market share of the company


2. Services provided by the company
3. Future prospect of the business
4. Customer’s expectations and companies capacity to fulfill it.

LIMITATIONS: -

 The limitation of the research work is that there might be a chance


that only those persons might be selected who prefer Airtel services
over another operator.
 Another major limitation of the project is that the sample size is small,
so our result can have some tolerance level.
 Thirdly, it is difficult to calculate market share of the company only
on the basis of revenue.

CONCLUSION:-

 The analysis and study of the companies business and market


acceptability will reveal the position, where it stands.
 Customer opinion and questionnaire will decide the quality of the
services provided by the company.
