Mentor-Mentee Meeting

Members: James De Palma (Mentee) and Rachael Haaren (Mentor)
ITEMS
One Child One Plan
 Spoke about how to access the online system and transferring student OCOPs from
manual to online
 Talked about the interview process – going through the learning plan with parents
and allotment times; as Rachael had the class previously, we talked about setting
certain times for particular parents and potential flexibilities that might need to occur
due to work commitments.

Jane Farrall Literacy Block


 I spoke about the four blocks and the ongoing challenges of making sure I include all
of them – I already include WWL, SSP, Writing and Shared Reading
 Working with Words – if words are too much at the moment, put word wall backwards
– if Jane questions, I have discussed with Rachael that it’s better to start it the right
time.
 SSP – shifting OCOP goals for Keah and moving them towards Onset and Rime
(changing the context of her learning – transferring skills)
 Spoke about transferring understanding of sounds between different literacy contexts
– making sure that students can retain the same understanding between such
lessons as onset and rime and working with words/writing.

Apple Air – connect to smartboard – use Jared’s iPad to model speech (model language on
Compass)

Speech Therapists
 Ask maintenance to send extra tables for service providers
 Continue the rule that no service providers in the prep room

EVPS Awards
 Get IT from EVPS to allow us to access staff share – Assembly folder.

Topping up printing – Maureen EVPS, ANSS Printing form in teacher admin

CARL Reporting
 Emma Gillett – wellbeing practitioner
 Contact: emma.gillett2@sa.gov.au – Ask Danica if Emma is still our wellbeing
practitioner
 Contact and make sure she is still the contact for ANSS – say that I’m new to doing a
RAN and could she come out for a meeting
 Fill out a Mandatory Notification Record and have Byron to sign – it needs to be filed
away by Front Office.

 Suggest in the CARL that I have spoken to BRI (Assistant Principal) so that she is
aware of the situation and is in charge of it – other kids attend Elizabeth Vale
 Emma will give the relevant information on the situation eg police and medical
intervention.
