Anatomy and Physiology LEC

1. Observation vs Inference

Observation is the gathering of information through the five senses. Scientists use

sight, smell, hearing, taste, or touch to learn about our world. Inferences are important

too, they are the explanations for observations you make. Inferences are based on your

experiences and what you know.

2. What is the relationship of Anatomy and Physiology?

Anatomy is the study of the physical structure and relationship of the body; it also

clarifies the structure of the human body while Physiology deals with the functioning of

the human body; it also study’s the functions and relationships of different body parts.

3. The levels of organization of the human body. What are these? If possible give an

example or two.

Cells, the basic building blocks of the human body, they are the smallest

independent living thing in the human body. That make up tissues, which form

specialized structures called organs. An organ is an identifiable structure of the body

composed of two or more types of tissues. Organ systems are groups of organs and

tissues that all function together towards a single purpose.
