Subject: MiVoice Business: Important Security Certificate Update

Mitel Hospitality Community,

We hope that you and your families are well and staying safe. The management team at Mitel
appreciates the actions everyone is taking to be positive, productive and effective as we maintain our
day-to-day business operations under challenging circumstances. Please know that Mitel and our
partners are here to help during this unprecedented time.

In the spirit of keeping you informed, we want to make sure you are aware of a required MiVoice
Business Security Certificate Update for customers on Release 5.0 to 9.0. If the patch/hotfix is not
installed by your partner on record by August 21, 2020, your MiVoice Business system will issue a
License Violation notice which will impact normal operations including the inability to make outbound
calls, except for 911 emergency calls.

Which Solutions Does This Affect

Affected MiVoice Business solutions include the following releases (including all associated Service
Packs, MiCD, Virtual and MiVoice Business Express releases):

• Mitel Communications Director R5.0


• Mitel Communications Director R6.0
• MiVoice Business R7.0, R7.1 & R7.2
• MiVoice Business R8.0
• MiVoice Business R9.0 (prior to R9.0 SP3)

What Actions Need to Be Taken

Your Mitel partner will need to install a simple patch/hotfix for MiVoice Business Release 5.0 to 8.0
customers. MiVoice Business Release 9.0 customers have the option to upgrade to Release 9.0 SP3 to
ensure continuity of service or apply a patch/hotfix that is available for 9.0 to 9.0 SP2.

Mitel has developed resources and provided communications to our partners, including a partner
bulletin (PB2019Sept1E) and a Knowledge Base Article (AL267 - MiVoice Business Security Certificate
Upgrade or Patch). For detailed information on your options and to schedule your implementation,
