Assignment 3: Persuasive Speech Outline 15%
Instructors: Drs. Arda Jebejian, Filomachi Spathopoulou, Belen Gaspar Garcia

Rationale: The purpose of this assignment is to encourage students to prepare persuasive speeches
with ethos, pathos, and logos. Each student should communicate with his/her audience to
accomplish a specific goal and to ensure the audience accepts his/her point of view. Whether
formal or personal, this type of speech intends to bring about a change in others. Sales pitches,
legal proceedings and debates are all forms of persuasive speech. The aim is to change existing
beliefs or call the audience to take action (buy goods, join a group, etc.).

Tasks/ Instructions
 Choose one of the topics below.
 Write a persuasive speech outline, with complete sentences (minimum 200 words).
 Follow the sample outline on your Moodle page.
 Use at least two sources and prepare a reference page in APA style.
 Submit the TYPED assignment in WORD FORMAT on Turnitin on the date of final
submission announced on Moodle – July 21, 2020, 5pm.
Choose one of these topics for your outline:
1. Eat more fruits and vegetables.
2. More recycling should be encouraged.
3. People should eat less junk food.
4. People should not text while driving.

uptake leads towards a healthy life.

Fruits and vegetables contain a large number of nutrients that are essential for your health. It
includes vitamins, minerals, and fibers that make your health strong and protect from a number
of diseases.
As I also said above that, these foods are the source of healthy life because it helps to balance,
regulate nutrition and active life by reducing the weights because it is low in fats, decrease the
cholesterol level, and also decrease the blood pressure and leads towards the healthy wealthy
lifestyle.
Speaker credibility:
I have well researched and precisely learned about the importance of fruits and vegetables in
life. They help to boost the immune system to encounter chronic diseases and also boost up
your confidence level (Dairy Council of California, 2017).
I have watched a significant number of people who take fruits and vegetables on a daily basis
and live a peaceful life without any diseases.
Thesis statement: Make the habit to intake fruit and vegetables in your daily diet and make your
life healthy.
2. Need: This is the time to change your habits and make the habit of eating fruits and vegetables and preserve a
healthy diet and habits throughout the entire life. However, further change your scenario from an unhealthy diet
to a healthy diet.

3. Solution: How can we build interest or make our young ones interested to take the fruits and
vegetables? This is a major issue nowadays; we can handle this by informing them about the
importance of fruits and vegetables in our life and by scaring from chronic disorders.

By introducing the taste of fruits and vegetables, by making or cooking in a delicious way.

4. Visualization: These solutions may help out you in order to generate interest in eating fruits
