I am interested in applying for a middle-level math position in your school district. I began
teaching in August of 2018 at Key Middle School. Since beginning my teaching career, I have
gained knowledge of educational strategies, technology in education, and approaches to
teaching mathematics. I believe my education, my teaching experience and my enthusiasm for
making sure my students know they have a voice and are heard in my classroom make me an
ideal candidate for a teaching position at your school.

Throughout my experiences working with students in the middle level grades, I have
successfully aligned my lessons with VDOE standards to meet the needs of my students. I have
differentiated instruction and used various strategies and methods of teaching and assessing
my students’ understanding of the topics. By differentiating my instructional methods, I have
been able to teach the students the material they need to learn in ways they are able to
comprehend.

I have experience tutoring many students who range in age from elementary to college age
students. I have helped the students I tutor understand the material they are learning and,
often times, having difficulty grasping in their classrooms. I attempt to determine a strategy
that works best for the individual student using any resource I have available to help them
understand the material. The many strategies I have employed range from the use activity
books to online resources that help my students learn the information needed to succeed.

I am certified in Middle Level Education, with a specialization in Mathematics. I am qualified to

help coach and direct art, music, and theatre activities throughout the school. I also have a
passion for technology and am willing to help both students and teachers incorporate
technology into their classrooms. I am willing to help the school in any way I can. Thank you for
