PEOPLE TO REMEMBER

MARIE CURIE:
°Marie Curie was born in Warsaw on November 7th, 1867.
°Her complete name was Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie,
°she was an important  physicist and chemist.
°Especially, she dedicated to the radioactivity field.
°She was an intelligent and persistent woman.
°Her two parents were teachers.
°When she was child, she lived a lot of difficult moments like her mom’s
death and the hard economy situation that she had to cross with his family.
°Marie won together his husband Pierre Curie a  Nobel Prize in Physics.
°Also, she won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
°She became in the first and the only woman who won a Nobel Prize and the
only person who won two Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields.
°Marie did two great contributions to the science.
°She discovered two new elements, polonium and radium, and she
developed the theory about the radioactivity.
°Besides, she conducted the first studies about radiology could to cure the
cancer.
° Marie Curie died to the age of 66 years, she died on July 4 th,1934 in Passy,
Haute-Savoie, France.
° The cause of her death was Leukemia. The exposure to radiation over many
years caused her death.
