COURSE POLICIES

 Success in this course is dependent on your active participation and engagement

throughout the course. As such, students are required to complete all assignments as well as
quiz assignments, or other reports by the due date. The course will be given five weeks only
to finish all the topics assigned to complete for the semester. The class schedule is every
Friday at 1:00 pm.
 Students are encouraged to participate in the google classroom threaded discussions. In
addition to posting a response to the thread topic presented, students are likewise expected
to respond to each other and comment and ask questions from the instructor.
 Students will not be marked present for the course in a particular meeting if they have
not posted on the discussion forum and/ or submit assignment/ quiz assignment administered
in that meeting.
 You will need access to a laptop/ desktop computer to make and complete the work
assignment in this course. Smartphone or tablet could be useful only for report/ output
submission via e-copy (pdf format), scanned, or printed copy of the answers or report.
 Projects and assignments must be submitted on due time. Late submission will be
accepted, but the deduction of points each meeting you have missed. Projects and
assignments must be in acceptable engineering form including a problem statement, labeled
drawings of the system considered and all equations and units must be shown or the problem
will not be graded.
 Reliable internet connection will be necessary to access emails, assignments, quiz as
well as to download resources, upload assignment files watch videos, within your E-learning
courses.
 Special examination is only given for excused absences. An excuse letter duly signed by
the parents or guardian or a medical certificate (in case of sickness) is required. The
examination will be face to face (F2F) on campus using a digital platform following the IATF
safety protocols.

STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Students who have any disability that might affect their performance in the class are encouraged
to speak with the instructor early in the semester.

COURSE GRADING SYSTEM

Grading will be as follows:
Attendance 5%
Quiz 15%
Quiz assignment 20%
Case study/ project proposal 25%
Comprehensive examination/ project output 35%
Total 100%
Methods of Computation
Absolute zero shall be used in all examinations and quizzes.
The percentile shall be used in recording grades when evaluating students using the
formula
Final grade = (5%*attendance)+(15%*quiz)+(20%*quiz assignment)
+(25%*case study/ proposal)+(35%*comprehensive exam/ project)
Grades Equivalents

Rating Grade
96 - 100 1.00
91 - 95 1.25
86 - 90 1.50
81 - 85 1.75
76 - 80 2.00
71 - 75 2.25
66 - 70 2.50
61 - 65 2.75
60 3.00
Conditional 4.00
Below 60 5.00

Conditional is not a grade. It is given to students that lack requirements and therefore, must be
accomplished before the end of that semester to obtain a grade.
