LESSON PLAN

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students must be able to:


a. Discuss the concept of the Philippine Government;
b. Compare Unitary and Federal form of Government;
c. Describe the features of Parliamentary and Presidential systems;
d. Understand what is a Multi-Party system;
e. Enumerate the three main branches of the government;
f. Identify the powers of the main branches; and
g. Explain the concept of Separation of Powers.

II. CONTENT

THE PHILLIPINE GOVERNMENT


Features and characteristics of the Philippine Government.
Differences between a Unitary and Federal form of government.
Comparison between a Presidential and Parliamentary system.
Concept of a Multi-Party system and Separation of Powers.

IV. PROCEDURE

a. ELICIT
Show pictures to students for them to describe or identify.

b. ENGAGE
After describing or identifying the pictures, ask the students what the
pictures represents.

c. EXPLAIN
Discuss the Philippine Government, its features and characteristics.
Compare the different forms and systems of a government.
Explain fully what comprises the Philippine Government.

d. EXPLORE
Cite examples and encourage the students to ask questions to widen
their understanding of the lesson.

e. ELABORATE
Ask the students about the difference between the Presidential and
Parliamentary form of Government based on the main branches of the
government.
To let the students, explain what they understand about the different
forms of government and the different concepts along it.

f. EVALUATE
Discuss the two forms of a government. Which is better, a presidential
form or a federal form of government? Explain.
