lives within each and every one of us today. I call it our God-
self. It is that spark of divine energy that constitutes our
unique and beautiful selves. So the strength to create comes
from making choices based in the present moment, not as a
reaction to events, relationships, or experiences from long
ago that no longer matter. Deciding to live in the present is
the key to an empowered life. It is our gift from God. And it’s
a choice we have the freedom to make.
The evidence of these truths rests in our ability to create a
life we desire. But harnessing this capacity to live consciously
and presently takes a great deal of focus and a lot of practice.
We must especially believe that we are powerful and filled
with our God-selves. Because we are part of the Divine, we are
divine as well. We do, in fact, co-create our world and accept
responsibility for what we are about to learn.
Why is this outlook so difficult for people to embrace?
Well, it’s not easy to be a co-creator with God in a world that
appears to be filled with noise and negativity, so we lose

Insight
Affirmations to gain
insight about the past
p Emotions
Old negative thought patterns hold you prisoner, pre-
venting you from moving forward into a positive state
of mind and heart. They are often the most difficult to
release. Our emotions are sometimes a barometer of our
past. What we feel inside not only affects our entire out-
look on life but makes us more susceptible to anoth-
er’s negativity. An affirmation encourages you to look
inward to find out which elements of life are blocking
your ability to mend. Change your outlook into a new
assumption for today!

Overcoming the Past
a
Never allow the past to hold you back from enjoying a
full life. What have you got to lose, except a heavy bur-
den? Forgiveness is usually the key to moving forward,
which is why it’s on the path to gaining insight. When
you forgive yourself, and those who have hurt you, you
are able to release negative patterns that visit you over
and over again. More important, you will finally sever
the control that a memory of another person has over
you. Stay in the present, affirm the good that has been
a result of a bad situation, and love your authentic self
even more than you did yesterday. You can do it!
