Organization of Study
The succeeding part of this study is straightened out in the following manner: Chapter 2
comprises of review related literature which highlighted the work that supports this study.
Furthermore chapter 3 gives the data and methodology selected for estimating the performance
of banking sector and competition. Chapter 4 portrays the empirical findings and similar
analysis. In chapter 5 the study is wrapped up by the overall conclusion of the study. Chapter 6
of this study consists of few recommendations for policies formation for the banking sector of
Pakistan and future research. Main focus of the study is the banking sector of Pakistan. The
sample period is 2000-2015. Thus this covers 5 state owned banks, 5 Islamic bank, 17 private
owned banks and 3 foreign banks operating in Pakistan with a sample period of fifteen years.
