REFLECTION
USC VISION:
USC highlights the power of God’s Word and the Spirit of Grace that can shun out
darkness. According to John 8:12 “Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of
the world, he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” So
Indeed! Jesus is the lamp unto our feet and the light onto our path. Jesus has the total
supremacy on Earth that with Him, total darkness and sin will vanish. USC molds students to
imitate Jesus’ virtues, such as to become obedient (what we know we apply justly and
honestly), striving (what we know we seek to learn), and generous (what we have we share).

USC MISSION:
Being a Carolinian isn’t just about the image of being in an outstanding University, it also
entails a lot of responsibilities and duties. One of it is to possess the characteristics of how a
true Carolinian is. Being a Carolinian is being professional, responsible, thoughtful, honest,
caring, patient, competent, striving, persevering, obedient and loving. In USC, it is not education
alone, it is an education with a mission. Our mission as Witnesses to the Word is a call for all
Carolinians to evangelize and to reach out and connect to the lost, least, and the last. And the
word is Jesus, we are witnesses of Jesus, so our mission is to preach the goodness of the Lord.
