The IDU of OptiX RTN 900 is installed Vodafone Existing rack which is in a shelter besides the tower.
The DDF/DCDB/Rack are installed on site
The height of tower is about 12m .
Typical diameters of the MW antenna are (0.3, 0.6,1.2 meters).

Determine where to install the antenna according to the azimuth and the design

height of the antenna, then remove bolt A on the antenna, and loosen bolt B ;

2 Loosen the bolt on the stand of the antenna;

Fasten the hanging bracket to bolt B. Pass bolt A through the stand and insert

bolt A in the installation hole on the antenna. Then, tighten the two bolts ;

Remove the bolts on the level adjustment screw, and then install the level

adjustment screw on the stand;
Remove the nuts of the level adjustment screw, and then fix the stand base to

the level adjustment screw;

the antenna;

Polarization Mode

Procedure
1-
A The default polarization mode of the antenna is the vertical polarization. If the
1 radio link is designed with the horizontal polarization, the polarization mode
needs to be modified as follow ;

2 Loosen the four bolts that fix the feed boom ;

Rotate the feed boom 90 degrees smoothly, and point the polarization indicator
3
to the letter H. In this manner, the antenna is in the horizontal polarization mode;

1- 2 4 Tighten the four bolts that fix the feed boom.

Procedure

Before you lift and install the antenna, determine the height and azimuth

of the antenna according to the design document by compass;

The operators should carry the following materials and tools on the tower:
the pulley, lifting rope, anti-fall clamp, ground cable of the IF cable, PVC
2
tape, waterproof tape, bundling tape, wrench, socket-head wrench,
diagonal pliers, flathead screwdriver, and paper knife;

Fix the pulley on tower above the antenna which will be mounted,thread
3
hanging rope through the pulley to ground.

Procedure

amount of vaseline to the gasket of the feed boom;
Confirm that the ODU is consistent with the IDU in the polarization mode. Then,

install the ODU on the feed boom ;

5 Install the removed lifting rings on the antenna.

Check the polarization from document, the default polarization mode of the
antenna is the vertical polarization then go to SN 1.3.2C . If the radio link is

modified SN1.3.2B .

1 Place the nut to the IF cable, and then strip the sheath off the IF cable ;

Fold back the shielding layer to the clamp. Then, place the sleeve between the

When binding the IF cable to the lifting rope, you can't bind the connector with

the rope. Otherwise, the connect might be damaged in the lifting process.

Mark the location of the 19" Rack according to the equipment layout, identify the

Use a percussion drill with bit 16 to drill holes at the anchor points,clear the dust

inside and around the holes;

3 Hammer the expansion bolt until it tube completely enters the hole .

Procedure

Before you lift and install the antenna, determine the pole and azimuth of the

antenna according to the design document ;

2 Install the anti-fall clamp on the pole. For details , see working procedure 1.5.1B.

3 Bind the lifting rope and pulling rope to the lifting ring and stand of the antenna ;

4 Two installation operators on the ground lift the antenna to the tower;

Install the two clamps of the stand around the pole and fix the clamps on the
5 stand. Then, fix the antenna according to the azimuth specified in the design
document .For details, see working procedure 1.5.1C.

6 Remove the rubber plugs of the two air holes on the bottom of the antenna;

7 Perform the grounding for the ODU. For details, see working procedure 1.5.1D.

Note
When lifting the antenna, you must use the pulling rope to prevent the antenna
7- 7- 1 from hitting the tower. In this manner, the equipment can be protected from
A B damage.
When fixing the antenna, you cannot remove the lifting rope from the antenna.
Instead, you should keep the lifting rope bound on the tower tightly till the

antenna is fixed to the pole. In this manner, the antenna can be protected from
falling down.

Choose Configuration > NE Time Synchronization in the Function Tree. Then,

the NE Time Synchronization page is displayed.
Right-click the NE that needs to be synchronized with the NM time. Then, click

Synchronize with NM Time.
Click Performance > NE Performance Monitor Time in the Function Tree, and

then choose the NE to be monitored.

4 Check 15-Minute or 24-House, and click Apply.

Note

When you are synchronizing the NE time, make sure that the system time of the

computer connected to the equipment is the local time.

Automatic Mode

Procedure

Use network cables to connect the EHT port and the EHT-HUB port of the SCC

board on multiple sets of equipment, as shown in the figure.
Choose Configuration > Communication > ECC Management. Then the ECC

Management page is displayed.

3 Double-click ECC Extended Mode. Then, select Automatic and click Apply.

Note

When there are two to four sets of the OptiX RTN equipment at one station, you

need to connect all the equipment through the cabinet-connecting ports.
When multiple sets of equipment are connected through the EHT and EHT-HUB
2
ports on the SCC board, you should avoid any loop of the equipment.

Preparations

Procedure

1 Follow the microwave antenna alignment principle;

Determine the voltage values of the design receive level of the ODU, according
2 to the ODU RSI-Vbnc Curve and the microwave design document. (The ODU
RSI-Vbnc Curve is delivered with the ODU).
For 1+1 HSB Protection, turn off the standby ODU's power before alignment
3
antenna. After finish alignment, turn on the standby ODU and check the RSL.

When alignment, you can force the 1+1HSB working at main ODU also,and after

Connect multimeter

A Set the maximum voltage that the multimeter can detect to DC 20 V, fix the

Procedure

1 Perform the hardware loopback of the E1 signal on the DDF.

Click the tributary board to be tested, and choose Configuration > PRBS Test in

the Function Tree. Then, the PRBS Test page is displayed.
Select the E1 signal to be looped back. Double-click Direction and select

Tributary. Then, set the test duration to 15 minutes.

4 Click Start to Test to start the PRBS test.

Note

The test directions of the PRBS test function as follows. In the tributary direction,
the bit errors from the local DDF to the equipment can be tested. When the
1
remote E1 signal is looped back and the cross direction is selected at the local
end, the bit errors from the radio link to the local tributary board can be tested.
