Prior to the topic activity in class, the professor will choose the teams that will
present Homework 4. After the presentation, the class will continue with the
following activity.
Individually, or in pairs:

1. Think of the logos of 2 products or brands (cars, fast food, or


companies).
2. Provide a description of the font and colors used in the logos.
3. Analyze the logos and answer the following questions: Has the logo
changed over the years? Was the change simple or complex? What benefits
of changing or not changing do you think the company can experience?
What change would you recommend? What are the companies trying to
transmit through the logo?
4. Summarize your answers and analysis on a report.
5. Compare and share your results with your classmates and professor.

 Provide a description of the font and colors used in the logos.

Usually this logo is an isologo type because is the fusion of letters and the
image in the same area, but now is just nowadays is just an isotype,
because just show an image. The letters were big to identify the name of the
brand and it have a mermaid in the center, the colors of the logo is black,
white and green, this last one predominates in the brand. At this time the
logo is just the mermaid without the name of the company, because when
we see this mermaid, we all know which brand we are talking about.

 Analyze the logos and answer the following questions:

 Has the logo changed over the years?


Yes, the brand has 4 logos over the years, at first it changed the colors
and the type of letters, in the logo of 1992, the colors were more bright
and the mermaid were bigger and more clear than the logo before, and
for the last one, I think it is more simple and clean, with a bigger
mermaid, I think it is a classic design.

 Was the change simple or complex?


Like we said before, we think that the changed of the logo have been
simpler through the years leaving only the mermaid.

 What benefits of changing or not changing do you think the


company can experience?
I think that the negative of changing the logo as the last one is that
people that have never been in this brand, doesn’t know the name, but
in my opinion the brand has changed the logo only in a mermaid

because they know that his brand is a world-renowned brand and put
them on a top position in the market. So they don’t have to put the name
on it.
