JOB DESCRIPTION

ARTISTS OF TOMORROW JR. Summer Chamber Workshop


Agreement

Reports to: ARTISTS OF TOMORROW JR. Summer Chamber


Workshop Education Director

Status: Part-time; 5-16 hours depending on faculty’s


schedule/needs of the workshop

Start Date: August 20, 2018End Date: August 25, 2018

Hourly Rate: $50.00/hour

Time: In between 4:30-6:30pm; last day 2-4pm

Position Summary:

Reporting to ARTISTS OF TOMORROW JR. Summer Chamber


Workshop Education Director, the Faculty Member is responsible
for on-site program delivery—central to which is chamber music
instruction, providing guidance and/or leading different
workshops and activities.

ARTISTS OF TOMORROW JR. Summer Chamber Workshop will


serve students ages six to thirteen years old.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Subject to the policies and management established by ARTISTS


OF TOMORROW JR. Summer Chamber Workshop Education
Director, Administration and Board, the duties of the Faculty
Member shall include:

• Work collaboratively with a team of faculty members and


invited artists to be creative, nurturing, and innovative in the
approach to using chamber music for positive experiences
for the participants.

• Teach children chamber groups at Teachers College, University


(at a rotating basis) assigned by the administration.

• Recruit students to register. Each faculty is encouraged to


recruit four to five students minimum to ensure enough
ensembles running. Marketing duty such as spreading
words and sending emails to parents, students, and schools
about the workshop. Faculty who has not recruited the
minimal students may be invited as part-time faculty due to
insufficient numbers of ensembles.

• Be available to participate in online meetings at least 2 times


before the workshop to discuss schedule, group
assignments, repertoire assignments and other teaching
related issues.

• Perform with the participants or other faculty in the end-of-


workshop performance in chamber settings.
• Assist with the development and implementation of systems
and procedures for monitoring and evaluating the music
workshop and individual children.

• Co-operate with and support any recording, filming, and


documenting of the program. In addition to the above
responsibilities, the Faculty Member will perform other
similar and related duties, as directed by the Education
Director and/or Administrative staff, not requiring
materially different qualifications from those described in
this document.
