Societal challenges require transformative solutions. The last few weeks have been a
reminder of the importance of innovation for public good. COVID-19 has impacted
civilization faster and more swiftly than anything we have seen in a century.

Africa struggles in the innovation pipeline. While over a hundred private benefit
institutions continue to develop innovators and entrepreneurs, similarly strong pathways
for innovators to create public benefit applications remain scarce.

Workers across most African countries will be required to stay home. Exceptions will
be made for those who provide essential services. These include health care and
security services. Exceptions will also involve those involved in the production and
distribution of food, utilities and medical products.

One of the biggest threats in the spread of Covid-19 in Africa is the use of physical
currency to purchase products and services. Physical transactions would increase the
spread of the virus.

The Solution
We are a technology startup company,. developing a solution to help individuals with
smartphones access the internet to purchase products and services and receive
delivery at their door steps(using what3words and okhi technologies).
The app will also offer financial services using the blockchain technology to transfer
money freely from one individual to another. The owner of the app will receive
transaction fees as well as virtual-to-physical currency conversions.
