Overview of the Bar: 8848 Mt Bar & Patio

8848 Mt Bar & Patio is located in Gokarna Forest


Resort which was established in 1996, founded by late Ang Tsering
Sherpa, and is currently owned by his wife Mrs Chanda Sherpa. 8848
Mt Bar & Patio is place where one can relax in comfort and style inside
the french inspired interiors with friends and family as you sip your
drink of choice whilst enjoying some live music and partaking in a
leisurely game of snooker pool. An honorable nod to the majestic
himalayan peak that has put Nepal on the map for any adventure thrill
seeker, 8848 Mt Bar & Patio is named after the height of Mount
Everest, the world's highest peak. Catering to an world class selection
of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, 8848 Mt Bar also offers up
some culinary favorite food including lamb chops, spinach and walnut
pies, tenderloin steaks, cottage cheese steak, all which can be enjoyed
within the bar or overlooking our courtyard. The bar mostly targets
middle age group since the price is a bit pricey which most of the
teenagers cannot afford it. The bar is located at Nagpokhari Marg 390,
Gokarneshwor 44600.

History of owner:

The Yeti Group has managed to transfer the ownership


of land inside the Sagarmatha National Park to its name to establish
Kongde View Resort. A total of 52 ropani [1 ropani is 5476 sq ft] of land
inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site, was awarded to the group, as a
Supreme Court decision made on Bhadra 5, 2074, was in their
favor.Earlier on Ashadh 23, 2066, the Commission for the Investigation
of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), had instructed the Land Revenue Office,
Solukhumbu to bring the land under government ownership. The
ownership of the disputed land was transferred to Sonam Lakpa
Sherpa, the chairman of Yeti Group, from Dadiri and Lakpa Tenzing
Sherpa.

A writ petition was filed by the Sherpa family in the Supreme Court
following a decision of the Solukhumbu Revenue Office to bring the
land under government ownership. The Supreme Court awarded the
land to the Sherpa family.
