national special dates such as:
July 20th: People are going to
participate in a facebook live
stream where the city Channel
'Telepetroleo' will commemorate
the date.
August 7th: Barranca people are
going to memorialize the date
raising the Colombia´s Flag from
home.

Every year, Barrancabermeja
develops some events in order to
highlight the culture and customs.
This 2020, the city will hold the next
events:
Candy Festival: The town hall is
going to create a web-page where
customers can find a variety of
traditional candies that can buy and
receive at their homes.
Piano Festival: this is an special
event organized by UIS. People
interested in participate can buy
the tickets and enjoy the
presentation from the comfort of
their homes.
The Oil Festival
This event is usually develop in
March, but in this 2020, The Oil
Festival will be celebrated in august
and will include different activities.
The festival will start with a Street
parade, however public is not
allowed. The parade is going to be
broadcast by the city channel.
The day after, famous musicians are
going to performance traditional
music and songs in front of the
'Petroleum Christ'.
The coming days of the week will be
full of food and dance because the
Mayor will open the dock to the
public; citizens can buy delicious
catfish with plantain while local
musicians perform on the streets.
