The Centre of Intellectual Property Rights is organizing a research-based presentation competition on September 8th via Zoom. The competition will involve up to 10 teams of 1-2 members each presenting on topics related to intellectual property rights for 8 minutes followed by 2 minutes of Q&A. Topics include arbitrability of IPR disputes, standard essential patents, trademark infringement in cyberspace, copyright issues on social media, the role of IPR in protecting biodiversity, and using IPR as collateral for credit. Centre of Intellectual Property Rights is organising an Intra-institute Research-based Presentation Competition on 8th September 2020, 3:00 PM onwards on Zoom Platform (link to be shared with registered participants). Following are the themes for the same: 1. Arbitrability of IPR disputes in India 2. Standard Essential Patents 3. Infringement of Trademarks in Cyberspace 4. Copyright issues in social media 5. Role of IPR is Protection of Biodiversity 6. Intellectual Property Rights as Collateral for credit Rules: a. One team can consist of maximum two members. b. Only 10 teams will be allowed to participate and selection will be on first come first serve basis c. Duration of presentation should not exceed 8 minutes (Max: 10 slides) followed by 2-minute question answer round. d. The participants will be judged on the following criteria: i. Content- depth of legal research, cases referred, comparative study, reforms suggested etc. ii. PowerPoint presentation should be made in points and not long paragraphs and it would be judges accordingly iii. Presentation skills iv. Question handling e.
