    Grievance Description Your kind reference is invited regarding the improper pay fixation of scientific assistant/B
    recruited under the various recruitment advertisements during 2004 to 2008 (adv. No. 1/2004 (R-1)
    & 1/2006 (R-1)). According to the recruitment advertisements the Pay Scale for the Post of
    Scientific Assistant/B was 5500-175-9000. A�er absorption interview, the candidates were also
    absorbed in the pay scale of 5500-175-9000 as Scientific Assistant/ B. However, during the
    re-fixation of pay during implementation of 6th CPC in the year 2008, the pay of Scientific
    Assistant/B was fixed as 5000 X 1.86 Rs 9300/- in the grade pay of Rs 4200/-.
    As per 6th CPC gazette part B section II, the pay scale of Rs 5000-8000, Rs 5500-9000 should be
    merged, with the post in the scale of 6500-10500 being upgraded to next higher grade in pay band
    PB-2.
    The pay of the Scientific Assistant/B recruited during 2004 to 2008 (Pay scale of 5500-175-9000 for
    the post of Scientific Assistant/B) shall be fixed by applying the multiplication factor of 1.86 with
    6500 implying thereby that the commencement point of the pay band-2 should be Rs 12090/-
    based on 6500 X 1.86 12090 instead of Rs 9300/- computed by multiplying Rs 5000 X 1.86 9300/-.
