Minister Audet Announces the Appointment

of New Members of the Board of Directors
of SONACC

Québec, June 14, 2006 − The Minister of Finance of Québec, Michel Audet, today
announced the appointment of new members of the board of directors of the Société
nationale du cheval de course (SONACC).

As the Minister had indicated earlier this week, the board’s membership will consist of
five distinguished public-sector directors:

• Florent Gagné Chair

• Diane Jean Deputy Minister

Ministère du Revenu

• Sylvain Boucher Assistant Deputy Minister, Regional Affairs

Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de
l’Alimentation

• Gilles Paquin Associate Secretary,

Budgetary Policy and Programs
Secrétariat du Conseil du trésor

• Yves Lafrance Assistant Deputy Minister,

Government Corporations and Economic Projects
Ministère des Finances

The members of the new board of directors are mandated to restore order to the
corporation, prepare the transition once the transfer of the horseracing tracks is
completed and establish the mandate of the Conseil de l’industrie, or industry council,
that will be set up to promote and develop the industry.
