Throughout my first year at Pfeiffer University I have helped with numerous projects for
different clubs and organizations on campus. When I was first introduced to this task where our
group would be doing our own kind of service project for our community, I thought it was a
great idea for us to come together as a class to do something that will benefit others in the
community. We had various creative ideas from Alonna, who provided us with many interesting
and fun things that we might be able to do, but, in the end, we decided to go with Billy’s idea to
choose a few items of clothing to donate at the blue donation box down the street. There are
actually multiple reasons why we chose to do this as our service project. We believed it to be a
quick and efficient way to complete the assignment and most of our group was available to meet
for it, almost all of us had spare clothes that we don’t really wear anymore so it was easy to
donate them, and we liked the idea of donating them so that they could go to someone who might
actually wear them and put them to good use. Although I wish we could have had a lot more time
to plan something bigger and get more people on campus involved in, I really liked that we came
together and took the time to want to donate gently used clothing that would go somewhere for
someone else to put it to use. I think that even though we do not fully know if the clothing we
donated will get to someone else, it is still the thought that we put into doing this for someone
