Observe. View users (possible clients) and their behavior in the context of their lives.
● Scientists, astronauts, and humans in general require lots of care. While they plan ahead the best
they can, there's always things that pop up. Heating can brea k, water systems downed, or even
broken.
Engage. Interact with and interview users through both scheduled and short casual encounters.
● I have talked with astronauts and scientists alike, somethings they overlap into one person! They
all agree that proper tools are a necessity for survival.

Immerse. Experience what your user experiences.


● I've broken tons of tools at camps and hikes. Sure sucks to shovel snow with your hands. Sucks
even more to be trapped by it. The work has to be done one way or another.
