5BE IT ENACTED BY THIS UIL CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT:


6SECTION 1. The Law Enforcement Sentencing Severity (LESS) Act of 2020 shall punish

7 active-duty law enforcement officers found by court to have committed

8 an abuse of office through their role as an officer of the law.

9 A. The offender in question will receive a prison sentence of no less than

10 15 years and no more than 30 years, to be determined by judiciary

11 discretion.

12 B. The offender in question will be ineligible for parole during the

13 entirety of his/her sentence.

14SECTION 2. “Judiciary discretion” is defined as the ability of a Judge and/or Jury to

15 determine sentencing in a criminal case.

16 “Abuse of office” is defined as a person acting or purporting to act in an

17 official capacity or taking advantage of such actual or purported capacity

18 knowingly taking part in illegal conduct

19SECTION 3. The enforcement of this legislation will be overseen by the Department

20 of Justice.

21SECTION 4. This bill will go into effect on January 1st, 2022.


22SECTION 5. All laws in conflict with this legislation are hereby declared null and void.
