1. Calculation of Life Cycle and Damage about Beam

1.1 Importing Beam analysis result


1. Double click on ANSYS Motion Postprocessor icon for fatigue analysis .

2. Copy and extract “Fatigue.zip” file from “ANSYS Motion installed path\Motion\Document\” to
user directory. And import the BEAM1.dfr file.

3. Click Stress Vonmisess in [ ] Stress and verify Vonmisess Stress.

1.2 Creation of User Material


1. Select [User Material Library..] of [Tool] [ Fatigue] tab for User Material creation.

2. Click [Load Standard Library] to make a User Material from created Standard Material.

3. Check Enable of AISI1012 in Standard Material Library and Click [OK].

4. Verify imported AISI1012.

5. Modify Material name to [BEAMMATERIAL] in [Name] tab. And modify Yield strength to 270,
Ultimate Tensile Strength to 410 in [Static Data] tab. And click [Update].

6. Verify created new BEAMMATERIAL and click on OK or Apply.

1.3 Defining Material for fatigue analysis


1. Click [Material] of [Toll] [Fatigue] tab to import User Material fatigue analysis.

2. Select [Load User Library] to import User Material.

3. Check Enable tab of BEAMMATERIAL and click [OK].

4. After verifying BEAMMATERIAL in Material List, select [Load Standard Library] to import
Standard Library Material. And click OK.

5. After Checking Enable tab of AISI1012, click [OK].

6. Verify added AISI1012 in Material List and click on OK or Apply.

1.4 Applying Material on Flexble Body


1. Click [Flexible Body..] of [Toll] [Fatigue] tab to apply Flexible Body for Fatigue analysis.

2. Select [Comp1] that belongs to FEBody_01.

3. Select [Comp1], and[BEAMMATERIAL] for FEBody_01 and click [Apply].

4. Click [OK] to finish.

1.5 Fatigue analysis


1. Click [Run..] of [Toll] [Fatigue] tab for Fatigue analysis execution.

2. Check Enable tab of FEBody_01.

3. Select Von-Mises in Stress/Strain Combination Type for Fatigue analysis.

4. After selecting Neglct in Mean Stress Effect Type, click Run.

5. If the analysis is completed, verify [BEAM1.dfr] and BEAM1.dffrf files that belongs to
DataBase Navigator.

6. Double click [Life_Cycle] button of Fatigue in Contour.

7. Verify the analysis result of Life_Cycle.(Please, click on Play button)

8. Double click [Damage] button of Fatigue in Contour.
