WHAT IS RECALLING FACTS
MAIN IDEA AND SUPPORTING DETAILS
• Recalling Facts and Details means to recall, tell or find the details that are given
in a text .(Chronological order – in the order that something happens)

• To find these details, we ask questions such as who, what, when, where, why
and how.

• Literal questions have answers that are found directly in the passage or text.

• These questions help us to remember and find information on what we read.

Go back to the passage to find , underline and number these answers. Play the
game, “ Can you find it in the Passage?”

Read the passage below. Try to recall the details from the passage to
answer the questions that follow. Remember to ask who, what, when,
where, how and why as you read.
The internet has become the most popular way of finding information today.
People all over the world use the internet to source various data. Not to forget,
children of all age groups also use the internet. Elderly folks were very sceptical about
the internet and sharing personal information through the internet but today they
have become accustomed to using the internet without fear. But can you tell what
type of information you can find using the internet? The answer to that question is
'everything'. You can find information relating to people, your body, your health,
Math, Science, growing plants, news and even children's favourite free time activities
–games .
Not all people use the internet for good things. Some people use the internet
to send mean messages for others. Some people use it to con or steal things from
others. Some have used it to embarrass others. But you must make sure that you use
the internet in a proper way and make sure that your parents or an adult knows what
you are doing on the internet at all times. The world of information is there for you so
make sure to make the best of it.
