Informed Consent of Participation

“Utro KaPa?:” Scammed Stories of Investors

A. PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND

The researchers are researching the lives of investors who borrowed a

large amount of money as pay-ins for investment schemes yet received zero

return. The purpose of your participation in this research is to help us,

researchers, gather data for us to understand this phenomenon. You were

selected as a possible participant in this study because you possess the

characteristics we are looking for based on our set criteria.

B. PROCEDURES

If you agree to participate in this research study, the following will

occur: First, the conducting of a face to face interview or a phone call if time

does not permit. This interview would take at least thirty minutes. The

interviewer would be using an audio recorder to record the said interview. You

have the right to not answer questions that you not like or you could ask the

interviewer to skip to the next one, but we would appreciate it if you could

answer each question with honesty. Also, you are given the right to withdraw

your consent at any time and discontinue your participation without sanctions,

unless the project has been submitted.

C. CONFIDENTIALITY

The records from this study will be kept as confidential as possible. No

individual identities will be used in any reports or publications resulting from

the study. All recorded interviews will be given codes and stored separately
 from any names or other direct identification of participants. Research

information will be kept in locked files at all times. Only research personnel

will have access to the files and recorded interviews and only those with an

essential need to see names or other identifying information will have access

to that particular file. After the study is completed all the traces of transcripts

and recordings will be eradicated in order to ensure privacy.

D. BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATION

There will be no direct benefit to you from participating in this

research study. The anticipated benefit of your participation in this study is

helping the completion of this research and to make the community

understand more about this phenomenon.

E. VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION

Your decision whether or not to participate in this study is voluntary. If

you choose to participate in this study, you can withdraw your consent and

discontinue participation at any time without prejudice.
