47 CHANGE IN THE SUPPLY METHOD FOR SIDE DOORS

Side doors used to be sold complete, with the panel and structure assembled.
They are now supplied in two parts which will need to be ordered separately according to the part numbers
shown in the table below :

- FLH door Part : 60 25 092 039= structure Part : 60 25 008 591+ panel Part : 60 25 000 177
- FRH door Part : 60 25 092 038 = structure Part : 60 25 008 592 + panel Part : 60 25 000 176
- RLH door Part : 60 25 092 041 = structure Part : 60 25 008 439 + panel Part : 60 25 000 179
- RRH door Part : 60 25 092 040= structure Part : 60 25 008 438 + panel Part : 60 25 000 178

NOTE :

There is no change for bare panels.

No change in the labour time :

CO 4393 Replacing a front door 3.2
CO 4493 Replacing a rear door 2.8

To standardise the method of replacement with that of later models, the X63X and JE0X :
- Fit the door structure to the vehicle and adjustments made to the door frame, door lock and door seal.
- tightening the mountings.
- Bonding the panel with adjacent panels using tool Car. 1219 and bonding kit Part No : 60 25 170 306 used
for vehicle type X63X.

The repair methods given by the manufacturer in this document are based on the
technical specifications current when it was prepared.
The methods may be modified as a result of changes by the manufacturer in the
production of the various component units and accessories from which his vehicles
are constructed".

REMOVAL (refer to Workshop Repair Manual Unhinge the upper door hinge using the universal
M.R. 272, Section 47) joint extractor tool.

Disconnect the door check straps by knocking out

the pin (or pins).

FITTING THE DOOR STRUCTURE Fit the door seal and adjust the structure in
relation to the top of the vehicle body and the
Fit the structure to the vehicle without the seal. centre pillar lining.

Secure the structure ( with the lock engaged on
the second notch).
Adjust the door structure clearance as shown in
the diagram below, using 13 mm shims.
Tighten the door hinges without locking the
bolts.
Make sure that there is a constant clearance
around the whole of the window frame by
adjusting the door hinges and the door striker
plate.
Lock the door hinge bolts.

Centre the new door panel in relation to the

adjacent elements, door panels, using tool
Car. 1219 used for vehicle type J63.
