Induction Program-HR-R-08-New Format
Employee induction is an important, but sometimes neglected part of the hiring process. It is
designed both to reduce first-day jitters and to bring newly hired employees into the fold by
familiarizing them with their jobs and general and specific company operations, policies,
procedures, and products.
General Guideline:
Part A
HR Department: Respective HoD/HR Representative
The following job to be done in HR:
Complete Joining formalities according to the check list of joining formalities.
HR briefing About Organization (Company History & Organization). Inform about the vision,
mission and values of the organization.
Provide a clear picture about HR Policies & Practices (Service Conditions and employee
benefits etc.).
Part B
Departments/Units other than Joining Department:
Other department’s HoD/HoD Nominated person will provide the following information:
About the department org chart in brief.
General awareness of functional activities and procedures.
Part C
Follow up interview after two weeks by the supervisor:
Ask question to know whether the employee has got the correct information. Follow the
Induction Evaluation and Feedback Questionnaire.
Provoke the employee to ask question.
Repeat some of the earlier information for emphasis.
Return the entire induction form along with the filled in questionnaire to HR. Respective
HoD/Supervisor will preserve a copy with him for future reference.
